Abstract
372,787. Spray carburetters. ERADE, C. J., 188, Chaussee de Heusy, Verviers, Belgium. Dec. 5, 1930, No. 36776. Convention date, June 17. [Class 7 (iii).] The carburetter comprises a tubular body 15 containing butterfly valves 17, 18 which control the main air supply and the mixture outlet respectively, a fuel jet 25 positioned between the valves and an auxiliary air passage 26 into which the fuel is sprayed. The auxiliary air is controlled by a cylindrical sleeve valve 35 which is operated conjointly with the valves 17, 18. A needle valve 39 for controlling the fuel jet may be operated conjointly with the valves 17, 18, 35. The housing for the passage 26 slides over the fuel jet 25 and is provided with a slot 29 through which a rich mixture is delivered into the main air passage, the position of the housing 26 being determined by a screw which engages a lug 34. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes (1) a carburetter in which means for controlling the auxiliary air inlet and the outlet for rich mixture are omitted, (2) a carburetter in which a flap valve is located in the supply passage for auxiliary air and controlled simultaneously with the main air and mixture throttle valves, and (3) a carburetter in which the supply of auxiliary air is uncontrolled and a needle valve in the fuel outlet is controlled simultaneously with the main air and mixture throttle valves. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
