607,692. Spray carburetters. SOC. D'ETUDES DE CARBURATION POUR L'AUTOMOBILE ET L'AVIATION, S.E.C.A.A. June 7, 1945, No. 14384. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1942. [Class 7 (iii)] In a carburetter wherein an auxiliary jet 51 controlled by a valve 53 is brought into action at full throttle by a lever 57 connected to the throttle valve 3, a single control member 29 brings into action an auxiliary starting carburetter 23 and opens the valve 53 at starting by means of a lever 61. The member 29 comprises a valve 26 controlling the supply of emulsified fuel from the well 23 and a second valve 30 controlling the supply of additional air, the resulting starting mixture being delivered downstream of the throttle valve through a pipe 36. The fuel supplied to the main jet 11 is emulsified at 14. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes a modification in which the starting device is supplied by a separate float chamber and the member 29 comprises a further valve controlling the supply of emulsifying air to the main jet 11, the lever 61 actuating the valve 53 being omitted. In a further embodiment the auxiliary jet 51 is omitted and the mixture is enriched at full throttle by the operation of a valve, connected with the throttle valve, which reduces the supply of emulsifying air to the jet 11. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
