Abstract

331,653. Hofmann, H. May 23, 1929. Spray carburettors.-Fuel entering at i is controlled, in its passage to the nozzle, by a valve b mounted directly on the axle of the throttle valve k. The fuel passes through a duct e to a chamber c within the valve, whence it issues through a variable number of orifices d into a recess g and thence through conduit h to the nozzle outlet. The valve b is displaceable axially relatively to the throttle axle, and is forced against its seat by a spring. The spaces c, g are stated to serve as fuel reservoirs. The valve b is located entirely outside the air passage.
