270,269. Deutsche Erdol Akt.-Ges. April 30, 1926, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-For working an engine alternatively with producer-gas or carburetted air, the gas is introduced into the air inlet of the carburettor at about atmospheric or slightly higher pressure. As shown in Fig. 1, a gas producer c is supplied with air under pressure past a. throttle valve b by a blower a, the producer gas passing through a purifier d to the air inlet e of the carburettor g and an auxiliary outlet valve f being closed. Fig. 3 shows a suitable carburettor, slots k for the admission of producer gas being provided in the air-inlet passage l. When the carburettor is supplied with liquid fuel, a sliding choke tube i is raised into a position in which it closes the slots k and surrounds the fuel nozzle.
