Abstract

196,454. Ogilvie, B., Butler, G., and Gibson, P. March 17, 1922. Spray carburettors. - An auxiliary carburetting device for running the engine at from one-third to one-half of its full power comprises a vertical mixing chamber 1 containing a removable choke tube 2, a rotatable throttle valve 10 and a fuel nozzle 9, arranged horizontally between them, the said nozzle being controlled by a screwed valve 13. The chamber 1 is connected, by a pipe 3 of smaller diameter, to the induction pipe between the main carburettor throttle valve and the engine cylinders. The throttle valve 10 may be actuated from the driver's position through a Bowden wire.
