Abstract

147,381. Tomlin, J. H. Oct. 15, 1919. Spray carburettors; vaporizers, external.-The gasoline mixture supplied from the carburettor to the inlet manifold 3 is augmented by a high flash-point mixture supplied through a pipe 28 from a supplementary fuel reservoir 5 supported in proximity to the exhaust manifold 2 and having a regulatable air-inlet 20 above the fuel level. The reservoir 5 contains a wick or the like 19 impregnated with the fuel, and is fitted with a baffle 16. The discharge end of the pipe 28 is provided with a perforated plate to control the supply of supplementary mixture.
