Combustion Methods Of Internal-Combustion Engines
(AREA)
Abstract
18,836. Bryant, C. H., and Clasper, W. G. Aug. 16. Spray carburettors.-Warm air, such as from a jacket around the exhaust pipe, passes in at A and mixes with fuel from the nozzle B<3>, which is controlled by a hand-actuated valve B<2> and a second valve C controlled by the engine suction acting upon a disk C<1> which nearly fits the glass cylinder C<2>. For heavy fuels a baffle chamber D is placed between the spraying- nozzle and the engine, the baffles of which may be made of copper and heated by conduction from the engine. Hand-actuated devices E<3> control the supply of supplementary air.
