Abstract

107,852. Ewart, R. D. Aug. 10, 1916. Cylinders, pipes for. - A manually-actuated valve for admitting additional air to the induction pipe serves also as a nozzle for admitting fuel or mixture for starting the engine. The air valve c of piston type is loaded by a spring f, is actuated by Bowden mechanism g, and is provided with a conical valve por. tion e which serves as a nozzle for injecting the fuel which is supplied through the hollow stem b. The nozzle mav be of the type described in Specification 5537/15, [Class 7 (v), Internal-combustion engines, Starting &c.]. The valve casing d is screwed into the induction pipe, and may have air ports in its curved wall or, as shown, in the cover.
