Abstract

175,454. Fagard, J. Dec. 1. 1920. Spray carburettors -An auxiliary nozzle f surrounds a tube e placed above the main jet d; the auxiliary nozzle is in communication with a chamber p open to the atmosphere and with the tube through holes n in the tube. With the throttle closed, fuel flows into the nozzle f and chamber p through the holes n; the engine is started on a pilot nozzle k, and as the throttle is opened the fuel in the auxiliary nozzle is added to that flowing from the main tube. At high speeds air is drawn through the auxiliary nozzle and impinges on an emulsion formed in the tube e. The pilot nozzle may be fed from the chamber p.
