[Class 7 (ii)] In a vehicle engine in which the fuel-air mixture supply is heated by admitting exhaust gases into the inlet manifold a from the adjacent exhaust manifold b, one or more tubes c lead directly from the manifold b to the manifold a and are furnished with one or more apertures, for the restricted discharge of exhaust gases into the inlet manifold at the junction of the branch connection from the carburetter with the inlet manifold proper. As shown the discharge aperture of the tube c is a fishtail nozzle e, but a ring or row of small apertures may be employed.
