Abstract
549,191. Vaporizers. HURST, F. J. Jan. 13, 1942, No. 507. Convention date, May 17, 1941. [Class 7 (iii)] The mixture supplied to an engine is heated by one or more hollow bodies A having a part situated in the induction pipe H and a part in the exhaust pipe K, the part in the induction pipe being closed at B and provided with one or more rims or flanges with apertures therein. As shown, the body is situated opposite the inlet J to the induction pipe, the flange D has a rim E, and apertures are provided in the flange. the rim, and in the tube at C just above the partition B. An aperture may be provided in the partition B to admit a small amount of exhaust gas to the induction pipe. Wire gauze may be fitted at the junction of the carburetter and the induction pipe.
