Abstract

353,882. Vaporizers. DEHN, F, B., 103, Kingsway, London.-(Kingston Products Corporation ; Kokomo, Indiana, U.S.A.) April 28, 1930, No. 13063. [Class 7 (iii).] A rich fuel and air mixture is heated by the exhaust gases and diluted with additional air. In take and exhaust manifolds 10, 11 are formedintegrally and have a common wall 14 forming a hotspot on to which the complete mixture is directed after passing the throttle valve 16. Primary air enters through a branch 22 containing a choke valve 19 and a weighted air valve 20, and is conveyed through pipes 23, 24 to tortuous passages in a chamber 28 which delivers through pipes 30, 31 into a space above the throttle valve. A fuel nozzle 25 having outlet passages 27 is fed from a float chamber 35 and discharges into the exhaust-heated passage 24. The combustible mixture joins a main air passage 32 below the throat of a Venturi passage 18. A priming and idling passage 33 is provided adjacent the throttle valve 16.
