Regulating. - A n extra-air valve on the induction pipe comprises an air chamber A with one or more small inlet apertures c, a rotary valve plate E having a long tapering aperture F and connected to the throttle valve for simultaneous actuation, and a separate intermediate shutter plate G having several apertures g of different sizes and adjustable by hand to close the valve or to vary the area of the air-inlet apertures.
