Abstract
191,748. Drogo, A. Jan. 13, 1922, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors; cylinders receiving liquid fuel. - Carburettors of the type in which fuel is drawn by suction into an engine cylinder or valve casing and there mixed with the main air supply have, in addition, means for varying the pressure in the float-chamber. The main air supply flowing upwards in a pipe 6 is controlled by a valve 16 and fuel is drawn by the engine through a pipe 12 from a well 11 connected to the float-chamber 1 bv a calibrated hole 10. A tube 4 controls the pressure in the float-chamber and a tube 22, the orifices of which may be oblique to the tube 6, controls the pressure in the well 11. The tube 4 may be omitted and the end of the tube 22 may be bent to the direction of flow in the pipe 6. Specification 210,584 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a means for economizing fuel during slow-running in which the lower end of the tube 12 is attached to a piston so as to be lifted by the high suction in the induction pipe when the -valve 16 is almost closed. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
