Abstract
317,317. Junkers, H. Aug. 13, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 278,6GE. Air, removing; regulating delivery by opening suction valves.-The fuel pump of the parent Specification is modified by providing two passages or sets of passages 7, 8 between the fuel tank 6 and the pump, the passages uniting near the inlet port 9. When this port is opened by the controlling edge 11 during the delivery stroke, the mixture of fuel and air passes from the space 3 through the port 9 back to the tank 6, and its suction action on the passage 8 induces a flow of air-free fuel from the tank to the inlet 9. In another form, the passages 7, 8 meet in a common chamber connected to the pump barrel by the inlet port. In another form, the inlet passage 9 is shaped to give an injector action on the end of the passage 8.
