Abstract
317,319. Junkers, H. Aug. 13, 1928, [Convention date]. Single - acting suctionvalveless piston pumps; regulating delivery by opening bye-passes and suction valves.-In a fuel pump for internal-combustion engines, the inlet port 4 is controlled by one edge 5 of a recess in the piston communicating with the working space 7 by bores 6 in the piston. In another form, the recess is connected to the space 7 by a passage in the pump body, and in another by a peripheral slot in the piston. The delivery may be regulated by a second return port 4<1>, Fig. 4, which is uncovered during the delivery stroke by an upper inclined edge 15<1> of the piston recess. In another form, a second recess in the piston communicating with the main recess has an inclined edge controlling the return of fuel to the port 4 during the delivery stroke.
