Abstract

April 26, 1927 Spray carburettors. -In carburettors of the kind provided with a fixed block A traversed by air passages a into each of which opens a fuel nozzle, the outlets of the passages being controlled by a suction-actuated sleeve valve G, suction from the induction pipe on the engine side of the throttle valve B is transmitted through a conduit E and a passage c<1> to the space between the top of the block A and the under side of the valve C. The conduit E and passage c<1> are connected by an elbow union D the passage through which is controlled by a needle valve D'. The valve C is provided with a sleeve c<3> which closes the mouth c<2> of the passage c<1> when the valve falls to the slow-running position.
