262,884. A.M.A.C., Ltd., Sanderson, E. P., and Phillips, W. N. G. June 16, 1926. Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor of the kind in which the fuel nozzle opens into a branch passage which delivers mixture into a restriction in the main air passage and draws all its air from the main passage through an opening on the air inlet side of the restriction, the fuel nozzle 5 penetrates the bottom of a cup 4 which projects into a choke tube 3 in the main air passage 2, and the branch air passage 7 enters the cup above the nozzle. The air supply through the branch passage 7 may be controlled by a valve, or the air inlet aperture 8 to the passage may be controlled by a plug 9, by a valve, or by a fixed or adjustable sleeve, which may form an extension of the choke tube 3, mounted in the' main air passage 2; when the controlling device i.; adjustable, it may be interconnected with the throttle valve.
