Abstract

178,456. Monier, L. April 13, 1921, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-A selffeeding carburettor comprises a small Venturi tube 1 connected by a conduit 3 with a fuel tank below the level of the carburettor and a second Venturi tube 5 which is connected to the induction pipe. The Venturi tubes are open to the atmosphere at their lower ends and the tube 5 mav be slidable in its casing to vary the suction in the primary tube 1 but the size of the annular space 6 should be greater than that of the opening 4. The nozzle of the conduit 3 should be slightly above the smallest section of the tube 1, and may be annular, or it may be carried with the Venturi tube. For idle running a similar Venturi tube nozzle may communicate with the induction pipe beyond the throttle valve. Specifications 126,729 and 137,862 are referred to.
