Abstract

Un procedimiento para producir poli(tereftalato de trimetileno) (PTT) con una viscosidad intrínseca de por lo menos 0.75 dl/g por esterificación de ácido tereftálico (TPA) con trimetilenglicol (TMG) en presencia de un compuesto catalítico de titanio para obtener un producto de esterificación, precondensación del producto de esterificación para obtener un producto de precondensación y policondensación del producto de precondensación para obtener PTT, caracterizado porque: a) la esterificación se realiza en por lo menos dos etapas, una primera etapa inicial y por lo menos una segunda etapa subsecuente, conectada a una columna de procedimiento, b) se prepara una alimentación de catalizador líquido en base en TMG que tiene una concentración de menos de 5% en peso de titanio en forma de un compuesto de titanio estabilizado por un ácido orgánico bifuncional, c) una cantidad mayor entre 65 y 100% de la alimentación de catalizador líquido que contiene 35 a 110 ppm de titanio se introduce dentrode por lo menos una etapa de esterificación subsecuente, operada a una temperatura de 245 a 260ºC, y una presión de 0.7 a 1.2 bar, d) una cantidad secundaria de la alimentación de catalizador líquido que contiene 0 a 40 ppm de titanio e igual en el máximo a 35% del catalizador total se alimenta directamente a la etapa de esterificación inicial habitualmente junto con las materias primas, alimentación de catalizador directa la cual es sustituida parcial o completamente por la misma cantidad de catalizador en un producto de reacción, el cual puede ser reciclado de cualquier etapa de reacción adicional y del cual se mezcla con las materias primas para reacción adicional en la etapa de esterificación inicial en relación con la relación de alimentación molar total de TMG respecto a TPA de 1.15 a
