Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hand-held machine tool with a plate tool, in particular a grinding plate or polishing plate, and a drive motor arranged in a machine housing for driving the plate tool to an oscillatory and/or rotating and/or eccentric movement of a processing surface of the plate tool, according to the preamble of the claim 1.
  • a hand machine tool of this type is out DE 10 2008 059 585 A1 known, which forms the basis for the preamble of claim 1.
  • a covering device according to e.g DE 20 2005 009 030 A1 is provided by the applicant, for example, as a plug-in component, which can be plugged into the machine housing if necessary and then covers the side surfaces of the plate tool in the main working direction and the at least one transverse working direction.
  • the plate tool then does not hit obstacles with its side surfaces, but is covered by the protective wall of the covering device.
  • obstacles in particular the workpiece itself, can no longer damage the side surfaces, for example due to shock loads, abrasive or the like, and on the other hand, the usually sensitive side surfaces of the plate tool are also protected.
  • the plate tool generally includes a cushion or pad on which an abrasive or polishing agent is arranged.
  • the protective wall therefore protects both the plate tool and the workpiece. However, if the plate tool is required for edge-side processing of the workpiece surface, the operator has to remove the covering device again, which is cumbersome.
  • a hand-held machine tool is provided according to the technical teaching of claim 1.
  • the approach according to the invention therefore provides that the at least one protective wall itself covers and protects the at least one side surface of the plate tool, but there is still a recess for working in the main working direction and / or at least one transverse working direction, through which the plate tool is, so to speak, out of the covering device cantilevered or protrudes through the covering device, so that the protruding side edge region of the plate tool and therefore the processing surface on this side edge region is available for edge-side processing of the workpiece surface.
  • the plate tool with the protruding side edge area can be carefully guided by the operator up to a baseboard, side wall or the like in order to also process the workpiece surface there in an abrasive, polishing or similar manner.
  • the processing surface projects, for example, in the area of the at least one recess beyond a projection of the covering device onto the workpiece surface.
  • processing surface of the plate tool in the area of the at least one recess protrudes in front of an imaginary connecting line between opposite end faces of the protective wall at the recess.
  • the plate tool with a side edge region protrudes freely in front of an outer circumferential contour of the covering device in the area of the processing surface
  • the plate tool with a side edge region protrudes freely in front of an envelope of the covering device in the area of the processing surface
  • the envelope is an envelope in the sense of a geometric envelope.
  • the at least one recess is, for example, a U-shaped or V-shaped cutout from the at least one protective wall or includes such a cutout.
  • Only a single recess can be provided on the at least one protective wall. However, it is also possible for several recesses to be provided, particularly arranged next to one another in a row direction.
  • the recesses can, for example, have a sawtooth-like structure. It is also possible for the recesses to be defined by a wavy contour. Furthermore, the recesses between tooth-like, in particular Rectangular tooth-like sections of the at least one protective wall or the protective wall as a whole can be provided.
  • the covering device can form a covering hood which at least partially covers the plate tool on a side opposite to the processing surface.
  • the hand machine tool could also be called a polishing machine or grinding machine. Since different plate tools, namely grinding tools or polishing tools, or at least corresponding processing surfaces on the plate tools can be provided on the hand-held machine tool, the hand-held machine tool can be used for grinding or polishing. If the plate tool or its processing surface is replaceable, the hand-held machine tool can expediently be converted for both grinding and polishing.
  • the drive motor is, for example, an electric motor or a pneumatic motor.
  • the hand-held machine tool can be driven with electrical energy or pneumatic energy or compressed air.
  • the hand-held machine tool preferably has an interface for a mobile electrical energy storage device, in particular a battery pack.
  • the machine tool can also be mains-operated, i.e. it has at least one network interface for connection to an electrical or pneumatic supply network.
  • the plate tool is preferably plate-shaped.
  • the plate tool or the hand-held machine tool advantageously has a carrier plate.
  • the carrier plate is expediently essentially rigid and/or consists of metal and/or plastic.

  • the carrier plate can even form the output of the gearbox or drive motor.
  • the carrier plate expediently has a holding surface corresponding to the processing surface for an abrasive or polishing agent, for example sandpaper, a polishing or abrasive fabric or the like.
  • a cushion or pad for an abrasive or polishing agent can also be provided on the carrier plate.
  • the plate tool or a support plate for the plate tool expediently has a cushion or pad.
  • An adhesive layer or Velcro layer for attaching an abrasive or polishing agent for example a sandpaper, a sanding pad, a polishing agent or the like, is expediently arranged on the cushion or pad. This means it can be easily replaced if it wears out. It is also possible for the pad or pad to have polishing agents, abrasives or the like integral to its processing surface.
  • the at least one protective wall of the covering device extends to the processing surface. It is therefore advantageous if only the processing surface or a narrow area above the processing surface, for example of approximately 1 mm, 2 mm or 3 mm, projects freely in front of the protective wall of the covering device.
  • the at least one protective wall of the covering device completely or substantially covers the side flanks of the plate tool up to the processing surface.
  • the at least one protective wall of the covering device completely or essentially covers a cushion or pad of the plate tool, which is intended for or has an abrasive or polishing agent, for example sandpaper.
  • the plate tool can at least partially form an integral part of the hand-held machine tool. Therefore, for example, the carrier plate and/or the cushion or pad can be firmly connected to the hand-held machine tool, for example screwed, glued or the like.

  • the plate tool projects freely backwards through a free section of the covering device, counter to the main working direction. It is therefore provided that the protective wall or protective walls cover the plate tool laterally in relation to the main working direction and preferably also in relation to the at least one transverse working direction, but not to the rear.
  • a relatively large rear edge region of the processing surface of the plate tool is available, in the manner explained at the beginning, for edge-side processing of the workpiece surface.
  • edge section of the processing surface that protrudes through the at least one recess on the at least one protective wall of the covering device.
  • the covering device does not or does not completely cover a rear section of the plate tool with respect to the main working direction, for example its rear end face, rear narrow side or the like.
  • the covering device does not cover the plate tool at the rear transversely to the main working direction, in particular over its entire transverse width transversely to the main working direction.

  • the fastening means can include, for example, locking means and/or clamping means and/or at least one plug-in receptacle.
  • the fastening means can easily also include a catch and/or a clamp and/or a screw or the like.
  • a preferred exemplary embodiment provides that the fastening means include a plug-in receptacle on the machine housing for plugging in the covering device.
  • the plug-in receptacle expediently comprises a plug-in guide or plug-in contours which guide and/or hold the covering device in a form-fitting manner transversely to a plug-in direction along which it can be plugged into the machine housing.
