背景技术
导航装置(包括个人导航装置(PND)和车内电子装置)基于所述导航装置的位置向用户输出信息。这些导航装置通常利用全球定位系统(GPS)来确定位置,然后使用扬声器和/或显示器来输出地图信息、方向等。
为了继续扩展和/或改进由导航装置提供的特征,需要使导航装置获得网络访问(例如对互联网的)的机会最大化。下文的公开内容解决了此问题以及其他问题。
发明内容
下文是本发明的概要,目的在于提供对本发明的一些方面的基本理解。此概要不意在识别本发明的关键/重要因素或勾画本发明的范围。其唯一目的是以简化方式提出本发明的一些概念,作为稍后提出的更详细的描述的序言。

图1示出了使用有蓝牙能力的移动电话以导航装置访问远程服务器的系统。
系统100包括导航装置5,其被配置为通过移动电话1A-1B中可用的一个移动电话向远程因特网协议(IP)服务器15上传数据。软件8与软件18交换调谐通信,在至少每电话基础上(on at least aper-phone basis)调谐传输功率增益,接下来根据移动电话1A-1B中当前可用的一个移动电话来使用已调谐的传输功率增益量。此在至少每电话基础上的调谐允许导航装置5与远程服务器15经由广泛的多种移动电话和无线电信网络来通信,而它们进而使针对导航装置5的通信机会最大化。

应理解,对服务器15的可靠访问,或就此而言对任何远程网络的可靠访问,可以使得能够进行针对导航装置的广泛的多种应用。在导航装置5上的作为导航系统一部分的应用可以实时地获取基于位置的信息。例如,导航装置5可以获取经由GPS确定的关于当前位置附近的交通事故的实时信息。导航装置5也可以下载更新到内部导航数据库,例如将所存储的地图更新到关于新路线的信息。
此外,使用此处描述的已调谐的传输,导航装置5上的任何其他类型的应用也可以设有远程存储的数据。这允许导航装置5的功能集(feature set)被扩展到与导航没有必然联系的其他应用。例如,导航装置5上的一个应用可以被用来获取股票报价或其他经由互联网可获得的信息。应理解,在导航装置5上运行的任何类型的应用也都有可能被用来获取对任何类型的网络的访问。
应理解,此处描述的原理可以应用于任何有蓝牙能力的移动装置,不管所述装置是否具有任何导航能力。同样,无论在该装置和该移动电话之间的通信使用的是蓝牙还是其他无线协议,都可以应用上述原理。
应理解,功率增益基于的是一个系统的信号输出与该系统的信号输入的比。当使用术语“传输功率增益”时,相关的系统是导航装置5(或其他被配置为向服务器上传数据的装置)。当使用术语“接收功率增益”时,相关的系统是服务器15。
可以使用用于调节增益的任何已知方法来对导航装置15调节发射功率增益。这可以包括调节导航装置15上的一个电路的要么输入级要么输出级中的放大器、可变电阻器或其他电路部件。
图2示出了图1中所示的导航装置,以及该导航装置和用于调谐传输功率增益的远程服务器之间的交互作用。
导航装置5包括待被软件8更新的表格38。表格38稍后被用来至少部分地基于可用移动电话来设置用于传输数据的功率增益。
在该实施例中,导航装置5和移动电话31进行配对41,以建立在导航装置5和移动电话31之间的蓝牙连接。此蓝牙连接可以根据在美国专利申请12/752,911“USING A BLUETOOTH CAPABLE MOBILE PHONETO ACCESS A REMOTE NETWORK”中描述的原理建立,该美国专利申请出于所有目的以全文引用方式纳入本文。而且,该配对可以被一个请求触发,该请求来自在导航装置15上运行的应用,或来自导航装置15的用户接口。
在配对期间,软件8获知针对移动电话31的蓝牙客户端ID。此蓝牙客户端ID是全球唯一的标识符,其将被用来在表格38中唯一地识别移动电话31。
移动电话31接收来自IP服务器15的会话发起(initiation)请求。导航装置5处理该请求43,然后软件8使用一个机制来延迟会话发起。例如,软件8可以通过在确认(acknowledgement)中使用比特设置44或通过用于延迟该会话发起的任何其他机制来导致该会话发起被延迟。软件18被配置为观察比特设置44,并据此延迟该会话发起。
然后软件8通过使用IBS调制解调器9将所接收的数字数据调制成音频频率音调,来生成待被传输的测试数据45。这些频率音调被选择以合成话语,从而所述频率音调将以小的衰减或衰落经过任何中间音码器。在被编码并调制成音频音调之前,所述数字数据可以被格式化成一个或多个分组。一个分组格式化器可以预先考虑,例如,在有效载荷之前有一个头和一个同步样式。还可以添加纠错位、校验和以及其他对分组的增强。

在服务器15上,软件18接收所述传输并且确定一个接收功率增益。软件18发回应答52,以指示所确定的接收功率增益。
在导航装置5上,软件8将用于所述测试数据的每次传输的接收功率增益关联到用于该传输的传输功率增益。此关联可以根据应答52中包括的信息而被执行。
然后软件8分析接收功率增益量。此分析可以包括生成一个图表(graph),该图表在一个轴上包含接收功率增益并且在另一个轴上包含传输功率增益。如果使用该图表,则软件8可以将该图表上的点连起来以生成一个线图。然后,所生成的图表上的线可以被用来对传输功率增益进行插值(interpolate),这将在服务器15处生成期望的接收传输功率增益。显然,对接收功率增益的分析可以完全独立于图表而进行,但在任何情况下,该传输功率增益是基于对接收功率增益的分析而被插值的。已插值的传输功率增益将通常不同于在传输51中使用的传输功率增益,但有可能简单地选自在传输51中使用的传输功率增益量中的一个。
软件8配置导航装置5,以使得传输将处于在分析期间识别的功率增益。这可以包括在导航装置5上设置一个蓝牙收发器,或控制导航装置5上的任何其他软件部件或硬件部件。据此,当出现延迟的会话发起61时,传输66处于所设置的传输功率增益。
如前文所讨论,IBS调制解调器9被用来调制传输66的分组数据67。IBS调制解调器19从所接收的通信——其处于已调谐的接收功率增益——恢复数据。
软件8还在表格38中将已插值的传输功率增益存储为与针对移动电话31的唯一的蓝牙客户端标识符相关联。表格38示出了在移动电话列和传输功率增益列中的条目(entries),以示出这种关联。此后,当传输数据时,根据哪个移动电话被用于该传输,使用来自表格38的传输功率增益量。
所示的表格38还包括如下可选列(optional column),所述可选列包括一个网络标识符,以指定在调谐期间使用的无线电信网络。此列可以被用来对所述调谐提供附加的细致度(additionalgranularity)。如前文所讨论,不同的无线电信网络利用了不同的音码器,这在至少一些情况下将对接收功率增益具有显著的影响。因此,在一些实施例中,所述调谐可以是在每电话和每网络基础上的。这在表格38中示出,其中蓝牙客户端ID C与两个不同的传输功率增益量(2.5dB和3.1dB)相关联。
应理解,上述原理可以被用来向所述调谐添加甚至更多的细致度,例如该表格中更多的列。例如,依赖于音码器的当前利用的模式,同一电话/网络音码器组合可以与多个调谐功率增益量相关联。音码器可以运行在不同模式中(例如全速率和半速率),且取决于使用哪个模式,可以有差异地影响接收功率增益。据此,在一个实施例中,导航装置5确定了音码器的当前模式,并且基于当前模式为此特定的电话/网络组合在传输功率增益之间进行选择。其他可能的列包括:一天内的时间、介于无线电信网络和服务器15之间的其他网络的身份(identity)(其他网络诸如IP网络可以包括音码器),等等。
此后,软件8可以将一个可用移动电话的蓝牙客户端ID(以及可能地其他变量,诸如网络ID)与表格38作比较,并且识别传输功率增益量。然后软件8使用已识别的功率增益量来设置该移动电话上的蓝牙收发器。
一旦已设置传输功率增益,服务器15上的软件18就可以持续地监测所接收的来自该导航装置的传输。可能的是,接收功率增益可以“漂移(drift)”或者随时间以其他方式变化,尽管导航装置5对于同一移动电话继续使用同一传输设置。这可以因许多原因而发生,诸如:导航装置5和该可用移动电话在网络之间漫游、简单地改变到塔的距离、进入或离开功率节省模式,等等。在任一情况下,软件18可以在任何时间触发导航装置5上的软件8以发起一个新的调谐处理。
软件18可以使用任何处理来确定何时需要一个新的调谐处理。在一个实施例中,软件18持续地监测来自该导航装置的传输的接收功率增益,并且如果此接收功率增益落在一个阈值范围之外则触发一个新的调谐处理的发起。在另一个实施例中,软件18随时间监测传输错误率,并且如果此传输错误率超过一个阈值则触发一个新的调谐处理的发起。由于传输错误可以与除了功率增益以外的其他因素有关,软件18可以进行一些小的纠错(troubleshooting),以排除不太可能由来自此传输错误率的功率增益导致的传输错误。
虽然在上述实施例中会话发起请求43是由服务器15发送的,但在其他实施例中导航装置5可以发送该会话发起请求并在该发送之前、之后或期间执行调谐。在这种实施例中,软件8可以不必在会话发起中导致延迟。
图3示出了图1和图2中所示的导航装置如何调谐传输功率增益。
在方框301中,该导航装置建立与一个移动电话的蓝牙连接,以与一个远程服务器通信。该蓝牙连接可以按照美国专利申请No.12/752,911“USING A BLUETOOTH CAPABLE MOBILE PHONE TO ACCESSA REMOTE NETWORK”中描述的来建立。

Claims (20)
1.一种用指令编码的处理器可读介质,如果所述指令被执行则导致:
与一个远程服务器通信,所述通信经过在一个导航装置和一个移动电话之间的蓝牙连接以及与所述移动电话关联的无线电信网络的无线语音信道;
将一个所接收的数字比特序列调制成一个音频信号,所述音频信号对于不同的比特值具有不同的频率音调,其中所述频率音调被选择以经过所述无线语音信道而不受在所述无线电信网络中运行的音码器的阻碍;
传输所述音频信号,第一次使用第一传输增益量,第二次使用第二传输增益量;
收回一个应答,所述应答指示了在远程服务器处针对所述第一传输和所述第二传输的接收功率增益量;以及
通过分析所述应答来确定第三传输功率增益量,并且使用所述第三传输功率增益量来使用所述移动电话向所述远程服务器传输数据。
2.根据权利要求1所述的处理器可读介质,其中如果所述指令被执行则导致:
发现针对所述移动电话的蓝牙客户端标识符;以及
在一个导航装置表格中生成一个条目,以将所发现的蓝牙客户端标识符关联到所述第三传输功率增益量。
3.根据权利要求2所述的处理器可读介质,其中所述导航装置表格包括多个条目,每个条目将一个定制的传输功率增益量关联到一个支持蓝牙的移动电话。
4.根据权利要求1所述的处理器可读介质,其中如果所述指令被执行则导致:
发现针对所述移动电话的蓝牙客户端标识符;
识别所述无线电信网络;以及

接收一个通信,所述通信指示了在所述远程服务器处的接收功率增益在一个预定范围之外;以及
响应于接收所述通信,以不同的功率增益量发送多个已调制的传输,以识别用于所述移动电话的一个新的传输功率增益。
7.一种方法,包括:
与一个远程服务器通信,所述通信经过在一个导航装置和一个移动电话之间的蓝牙连接以及所述移动电话的无线电信网络的无线语音信道;
向所述远程服务器发送多个调谐传输,其中所述调谐传输是使用如下频率音调调制的,所述频率音调被选择以经过所述无线语音信道而不受在所述无线电信网络中运行的音码器的阻碍,并且其中所述调谐传输是使用不同的传输功率增益量来传输的;
收回一个应答,所述应答指示了在远程服务器处针对所述第一传输和所述第二传输的接收功率增益量;以及
通过分析所述接收功率增益量来确定一个已调谐的传输增益量,并且当使用所述移动电话向所述远程服务器上传数据时使用所述已调谐的传输功率增益量。
8.根据权利要求7所述的方法,还包括:
响应于向所述远程服务器传输的请求,识别一个当前可用的移动电话;
将针对所述当前可用的移动电话的唯一标识符与如下表格作比较,所述表格将移动电话关联到所述已调谐的传输功率增益量;
根据所述比较,设置所述导航装置上的蓝牙收发器;以及
在设置所述蓝牙收发器之后,通过所述当前可用的移动电话向所述远程服务器上传所述数据。
9.根据权利要求8所述的方法,其中所述请求是经由所述导航装置的用户接口来接收的。
10.根据权利要求7所述的方法,还包括:
接收来自所述远程服务器的会话发起请求;
在一个确认消息中设置一个比特,以导致所述会话的发起的延迟;以及
发送带有所设置的比特的所述确认。
11.根据权利要求10所述的方法,其中所述调谐传输是在如下时机发送的:在发送所述确认之后或随同发送所述确认一起,并且在已延迟的会话发起之前。
12.根据权利要求7所述的方法,还包括:每当被所述远程服务器请求时就发送另外的多个调谐传输,以及根据最近的一次调谐来改变传输设置。
13.根据权利要求7所述的方法,还包括:
确定所述移动电话的音码器或所述无线电信网络的音码器的运行模式;
在一个导航装置表格中生成一个条目,以将所述已调谐的传输功率增益量关联到所述移动电话;以及
在所生成的条目中,记录所确定的运行模式,以使得所述已调谐的发送功率增益量关联到所确定的运行模式。
14.根据权利要求13所述的方法,还包括:
在所述导航装置表格中生成另一个条目,以将所述移动电话关联到一个不同的已调谐的传输功率增益量;以及
在所生成的所述另一个条目中,记录一个不同的运行模式。
15.一种服务器,其具有用指令编码的处理器可读介质,所述指令如果被执行则导致:
与一个远程导航装置通信,所述通信经过延伸到一个移动电话的无线语音信道以及在所述移动电话和一个导航装置之间延伸的蓝牙连接;
确定源自所述导航装置的多个所接收的音频信号的功率增益量;
传输一个通信,所述通信识别所述接收功率增益量并且将每个接收功率增益量关联到来自所述导航装置的一个传输;以及
接收来自所述导航装置的上传,其中所接收的上传的接收功率增益量是为了所述服务器上的带内信令(IBS)解调而调谐的。
16.根据权利要求15所述的服务器,其中所述指令如果被执行则导致:
识别一个新接收的传输,其具有在接收功率增益的一个阈值范围之外的接收功率增益量;以及
响应于所述识别,使得所述导航装置以所述不同的功率增益量来传输所述多个音频信号。
17.根据权利要求15所述的服务器,其中所述指令如果被执行则导致:
请求与所述导航装置的会话;
分析来自所述导航装置的确认,以得到请求所述会话的延迟发起的一个比特设置;以及
将会话发起延迟一个预定时间段,所述预定时间段与所述功率增益量的确定关联。
18.一种系统,包括:
一个导航装置,其被配置为建立与一个可用移动电话的蓝牙连接;
所述导航装置被配置为将用于所述可用移动电话的唯一标识符与如下表格作比较,所述表格将唯一标识符映射到传输功率增益量;
如果所述比较识别了一个条目,则所述导航装置被配置为,通过所述可用移动电话,以所识别的条目中指示的功率增益量向一个远程服务器上传数据;
如果所述比较未识别一个条目,则所述导航装置被配置为,以多个不同的传输功率增益量来传输一个音频信号,并且从所述服务器收回一个应答,所述应答指示了针对所述传输的功率增益量;以及
所述导航装置用于根据所述应答来确定一个传输功率增益量,并且在所述表格中生成一个条目,以将所确定的传输功率增益量关联到针对所述可用移动电话的所述唯一标识符。
19.根据权利要求18所述的系统,还包括:
所述服务器被配置为,根据对所述音频信号传输的分析来确定所述接收功率增益量;以及
所述服务器被配置为,生成并发送一个待被所述导航装置使用的通信,以优化与所述可用移动电话的随后传输。
20.根据权利要求18所述的系统,还包括:
所述导航装置根据所确定的传输功率增益量来调谐传输功率设置;以及
所述服务器还被配置为,触发所述导航装置,以发送新的多个音频传输,用于重新调谐所述导航装置上的发送功率设置。
