Additional patent to main patent no. 217234. Process for the preparation of a stilbene dye. The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of a stilbene dye, characterized in that 3-amino-4-methyl-6,2'-dioxy-5'-chloro-1,1'-azobenzul- 3'-sulfonic acid,
for example prepared by coupling diazotized 4-chloro-2-amino-l-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid with 2-amino-5-oxytoluene in a soda-alkaline solution, with or without pressure, with 4,4'-dinitrostilbene-2, 2 '- @ disulfonic acid condenses and leads the condensation product with copper-releasing agents in the copper lacquer.
The new dye is a dark powder when dried; it dissolves in water with a yellow-brown color, in concentrated sulfuric acid with a violet color and colors tree-ji-oll, e very lightfast, brown. Tones.
Example .: 38 parts of the dye, prepared by coupling dianotated 4-chloro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid with 2-amino-5-oxytoluene in a soda-alkaline solution, are mixed with 47.4 parts of 4, 4'-dinitro- s-tilbene-2,
Sodium 2'-disulfonate in 400 parts of water and 70 parts of sodium hydroxide solution of 36 Be heated to boiling under reflux for 12 hours in a stirred kettle. After the sodium hydroxide solution has been blunted with hydrochloric acid, the dye is completely salted out and filtered.
The still moist filter cake is dissolved in around 1600 parts of water at <B> 80 '</B> and mixed with an ammoniacal copper sulphate solution, made from 25 parts of crystallized copper sulphate, dissolved in <B> 100 </B> parts of water and 75 parts of 25% ammonia coppered at 80 to 90 for 6 hours. It is checked that there is excess copper up to the end. The partially precipitated copper compound is completely salted out and filtered.
The new dye is a dark powder when dried, it dissolves in water with yellow-brown, in concentrated sehulphuric acid with purple color and colors tree wo, fle in very light brown tones,
