Abstract

L'invention concerne des particules à base d'oxydes mixtes et de lithium, recouvertes d'oxyde métallique, utilisées pour l'amélioration des propriétés de cellules électrochimiques. Elle concerne des oxydes mixtes dopés ou non, servant de matériau de cathode, choisis parmi les groupes Li(MnMe¿z?)¿2?O¿4?, Li(CoMe¿z?)O¿2?, Li(Ni¿1-x-y?Co¿x?Me¿y?)O¿2?. Me représente au moins un cation métallique du groupe IIa, IIIa, Iva, IIb, IIIb, IVb, VIb, VIIb, VIII du tableau périodique des éléments. Le cuivre, l'argent, le nickel, le magnésium, le zinc, l'aluminium, le fer, le cobalt, le chrome, le titane et le zirconium sont des cations particulièrement adaptés, ainsi que le lithium pour les compositions spinelles. L'invention concerne également d'autres composés d'intercalation et d'insertion contenant du lithium, pouvant être utilisés pour des cathodes 4V, qui présentent des caractéristiques haute température améliorées, en particulier à des températures supérieures à la température ambiante, leur préparation et leur utilisation, en particulier comme matériau de cathode pour cellules électrochimiques. Comme matériaux de revêtement peuvent être utilisés différents oxydes métalliques, en particulier des oxydes ou des oxydes mixtes de Zr, Al, Zn, Y, Ce, Sn, Ca, Si, Sr, Mg et Ti ainsi que leurs mélanges, tels que ZnO, CaO, SrO, SiO¿2?, CaTiO¿3?, MgAl¿2?O¿4?, ZrO¿2?, Al¿2?O¿3?, Ce¿2?O¿3?, Y¿2?O¿3?, SnO¿2?, TiO¿2? et MgO. Il a été démontré que le revêtement avec lesdits oxydes métalliques permet de limiter de manière significative les réactions indésirables de l'électrolyte avec les matériaux d'électrode.
