Abstract
Una forma de droga libre en partículas de un compuesto de beta-carbolina que tiene una fórmula (1) y sales y solvatos aceptables para uso farmacéutico de las mismas, que incluye partículas del compuesto donde por lo menos el 90% de las partículas tienen un tamano de partícula de menos de 40 micrones. Las formas más preferidas del compuesto libre (1) son aquellas donde el 90% de las partículas tiene un tamano de partícula de menos de 10 micrones. El compuesto de beta-carbolina es útil para el tratamiento de diferentes indicaciones médicas. La forma definida de la droga libre en partículas de un compuesto de beta-carbolina permite una formulación uniforme de composiciones farmacéuticas estables. Las composiciones farmacéuticas que comprenden las partículas de la droga libre consiguen rápidamente una concentración sanguínea máxima de inhibidor de PDE 5 y/o un inicio rápido del efecto terapéutico inhibidor de la PDE 5. Un método para tratar la disfunción sexual en un paciente que necesita del mismo, comprende la administración al paciente una cantidad terapéuticamente efectiva de una composición que incluye la forma de droga libre en partículas del compuesto de beta-carbolina y uno o más vehículos, diluyentes, o excipientes farmacéuticamente aceptables. La disfunción sexual puede ser una disfunción eréctil masculina o un trastorno en la excitación sexual femenina. El método de preparación de la forma de droga libre en partícula de un compuesto de beta-carbolina y el uso de estas partículas de la forma libre del compuesto de beta-carbolina para la fabricación de un medicamento para el tratamiento de la disfunción sexual.
