- the outer conductor layers 25c to 25g and 35c to 35g provided on the same insulator layers 16g to 16k as the coil conductor layers 18a to 18e and 20a to 20e are formed on the coil conductor layer 18a by photolithography.
- the positional accuracy of the coil conductor layers 18a to 18e and 20a to 20e and the outer conductor layers 25c to 25g and 35c to 35g depends on the accuracy of the photolithography method.
- the positional relationship between the external electrodes 14a and 14b and the coils L1 and L2 is more predetermined than the electronic component in which the external electrode is formed on the surface of the multilayer body after the multilayer body including the coil is formed. Difficult to deviate from the positional relationship.
- FIG. 7 is an equivalent circuit diagram of the electronic component 10.
- FIG. 8 is a graph showing the relationship between the frequency in the electronic component 10 and the attenuation amount of the output signal with respect to the input signal. The horizontal axis represents frequency, and the vertical axis represents attenuation.
- coils L1 and L2 are connected in series between the external electrodes 14a and 14b. Since the external electrodes 14a and 14b are opposed to the coils L1 and L2, respectively, capacitors C1 and C2 are formed between the external electrodes 14a and 14b and the coils L1 and L2, respectively. As a result, the electronic component 10 constitutes a noise filter having two resonance frequencies shown in FIG.
- the external electrode 14a and the external electrode 14b have different shapes. Therefore, the shapes of the external electrodes 14a and 14b can be designed independently, and the capacitors C1 and C2 having arbitrary capacitance values can be formed. As a result, the two resonance frequencies in FIG. 8 can be changed. As described above, the electronic component 10 can obtain a structure that can be set to an arbitrary electrical characteristic.
- FIG. 9 is an exploded perspective view of the electronic component 10a according to the first modification.
- the difference between the electronic component 10a and the electronic component 10 is the shape of the external electrode 14a.
- the external electrode 14 a and the external electrode 14 b are the shape of the portion where the external electrode 14 a is exposed from the multilayer body 12, and the portion where the external electrode 14 b is exposed from the multilayer body 12.
- the shapes of these were the same, but due to their different thicknesses, they had different shapes.
- the shape of the portion where the external electrode 14a is exposed from the multilayer body 12 and the shape of the portion where the external electrode 14b is exposed from the multilayer body 12 are different, thereby the external electrode 14a. , 14b have different shapes.
- the external electrode 14a is formed across the side surfaces S1, S3, and S2, and has a U shape when viewed in plan from the y-axis direction.
- the external electrode 14b is formed across the side surfaces S2 and S4 and has an L shape.
- the thickness of the external electrode 14a is equal to the thickness of the external electrode 14b. However, the thickness of the external electrode 14a may be different from the thickness of the external electrode 14b.
- the external electrode 14a is formed on the side surface S1.
- the side surface S1 is a surface located on the upper side when the electronic component 10a is mounted. Therefore, the portion formed on the side surface S1 in the external electrode 14a can be used as the direction identification mark. Therefore, it is not necessary to newly form a direction identification mark in the electronic component 10a.
- the area of the portion where the external electrode 14a faces the coil L1 and the area where the external electrode 14b faces the coil L2 can be arbitrarily set. Thereby, the electronic component 10a can obtain a structure that can be set to an arbitrary electrical characteristic.
- FIG. 10 is an exploded perspective view of the electronic component 10b according to the second modification.
- the difference between the electronic component 10b and the electronic component 10 is the number of coils.
- the electronic component 10 is provided with coils L1 and L2.
- the electronic component 10a only the coil L3 is provided.
- the number of coils is not limited to two.
- FIG. 11 is an external perspective view of an electronic component 10c according to a third modification.
- the difference between the electronic component 10c and the electronic component 10 is the shape of the external electrode 14a. More specifically, in the electronic component 10, as shown in FIG. 1, the external electrode 14a has a certain thickness. On the other hand, in the electronic component 10c, the external electrode 14a has a thickness that decreases as it goes to the positive direction side in the y-axis direction. As described above, the capacitance of the capacitor C1 can be changed by changing the thickness of the external electrode 14a.
- the electronic component according to the present invention is not limited to the electronic components 10, 10a to 10c according to the above-described embodiment, and can be changed within the scope of the gist thereof.
- the coil conductor layers 18 and 20 are formed by a photolithography method, but may be formed by a printing method.
- the present invention is useful for electronic components, and is particularly excellent in that the positional relationship between the external electrode and the coil is not easily deviated from a predetermined positional relationship and can be set to an arbitrary electrical characteristic. .
