本件発明の情報入力システムは、タッチパネル101、タッチパネルに載置する媒体201、情報処理手段301、からなる。ハードウェアの具体的な構成を以下に述べる。
タッチパネル101には媒体201が載置され、本発明はユーザーが指先でこの媒体201をタッチして、各種の情報入力を行う。
本発明の最も特徴的な構成である、タッチパネル101に媒体201を載置した際、媒体201の位置、方向およびコード情報(媒体情報)を情報処理手段301に認識させる方法を説明する。
タッチする順番を予め定めるキャリブレーション方法を説明する。
第1のキャリブレーション方法について説明する。
第2のキャリブレーション方法について説明する。
第3のキャリブレーション方法について説明する。

タッチパネル座標系における座標値を媒体座標系の座標値へと変換する方法を、図23を用いて説明する。
なお、αはタッチパネル座標系における単位長さに対する、媒体座標系の単位長さの比である。
以下に、情報入力システムの構成要素の1つである情報処理手段301に実行させるアプリケーション(プログラム)について説明する。情報処理手段301においては以下の処理が実行される。
アプリケーションの起動方法については、オペレーティングシステムが通常備える起動方法によりアプリケーションを起動する。
アプリケーションの起動後、情報処理手段301はキャリブレーション・ステップを実行する。このステップでは前述したキャリブレーション方法により、タッチパネル101に載置した媒体201の位置、方向およびコード情報を認識する。
キャリブレーションが完了すると、タッチパネル座標系における座標値は、前述の変換方法により、媒体座標系の座標値への変換が可能となり、ユーザーは媒体201をタッチする操作が可能となる。
情報処理手段301は記憶手段に格納されたテーブルを参照して、媒体座標系における座標値と対応付けられた処理を実行する。
以下に、情報入力システムの構成要素の1つであるタッチパネル101について説明する。
キャリブレーションを補助するため、タッチパネル101には図24に示すようにカメラ103(光学読み取り手段)を設けてもよい。
以下に、情報入力システムの構成要素の1つである媒体201について説明する。
媒体201の平面(ユーザーが接触する面)図25を参照すると、媒体201にはキャリブレーションマーク401が印刷されている。キャリブレーションマーク401は、前述のキャリブレーション方法を実行するためにユーザーにタッチ位置を指示するマークである。なお、キャリブレーションマーク401の代わりの他の所定の方法で指示される位置でもよい。
図26に媒体201に孔をあける実施例を示す。図26では媒体201には貫通孔402が設けられている。
図27に媒体201に切り欠き部を設ける実施例を示す。図27では媒体201には切り欠き部403が設けられている。
タッチパネル101に載置した媒体201がずれるのを防ぐため、媒体裏面(タッチパネル101と接触する面)には滑り止め加工または粘着加工を施すとよい。なお、媒体を載置面で滑らして、使用する場合は必要としない。
本件発明では媒体201の表面または内部にRFID202を設け、タッチパネル101にはRFIDリーダー105を設けることにより、キャリブレーションを補助することができる。
本件発明では媒体201にバーコード等を印刷し、タッチパネル101にはカメラ103を設ける実施例について詳細に説明する。
以下、キャリブレーションを補助するために媒体201に導電体203を設けた構成について説明する。
媒体201の裏面(タッチパネル101と接する面)図28によれば、媒体201の所定の4箇所(図中では左下隅、右下隅、左上隅、右上隅)に導電体203が設けられる。
媒体201の裏面(タッチパネル101と接する面)図31によれば、媒体201の所定の4箇所(図中では左下隅、右下隅、左上隅、右上隅)に導電体203が設けられる。
コード情報または、コード情報および媒体201の向きを定義することができる。
図33は導電体203をコード値および/または座標値が定義されたドットパターンとして、媒体201に設けた構成を示す図である。ドットパターンを用いた情報入出力の方法については特許文献1に詳細が記載されている。
媒体201に導電体203を設ける構成において、タッチパネル101へのタッチ入力が、ユーザーの指先によるものか導電体203を介するものであるかの判別はユーザーの指先と導電体203との静電容量の大きさを情報処理手段301が認識することにより可能である。判別方法については特許文献5に詳細が記載されているので本明細書での説明は省略する。
上記説明した各実施例は適宜組み合わせて実施できるものである。例えば情報処理装置301がRFID202により媒体201のコード情報を認識し、導電体203により媒体201の位置と向きを認識する構成としてもよい。
図34~35は、導電性の材料、すなわち導電体で媒体を形成する構成について説明する図である。

- 静電容量方式によりユーザーからの操作を受け付けるタッチパネルと、
該タッチパネルを入力手段とする情報処理手段と、
該タッチパネルに載置される薄板状の媒体と、
からなる情報入力システムであって、
前記情報処理手段は、
所定のキャリブレーション方法により、該媒体に定義されたコード情報、該媒体の載置位置および載置方向からなる媒体情報を認識する第1ステップと、
ユーザーが該媒体面を、タッチおよび/または滑動するタッチ操作によりタッチした位置を特定するための、当該タッチパネルの座標系における座標値を認識する第2ステップと、
を実行することを特徴とする情報入力システム。 - 前記情報処理手段は、第2ステップを省き、第1ステップのみを実行する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報処理手段は、前記第2ステップにおいて、前記タッチパネルの座標系における座標値を、前記媒体情報に基づき前記媒体面におけるタッチ位置を特定するための、前記媒体の座標系における座標値に変換する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報処理手段は、
前記第2ステップの後に、
前記媒体の座標系における座標値と対応付けられた操作指示に基づく処理を、当該対応付けを記憶した記憶手段を参照して実行する第3ステップを実行する、
ことを特徴とする請求項3記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記操作指示は、ユーザーが該媒体面を滑動した文字や図形で認識する
ことを特徴とする請求項4記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体は、該媒体面への前記タッチ操作を誘導するテキストおよび/またはイメージ、もしくは手書き入力領域が印刷されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報処理手段は、記憶手段を参照することにより、前記コード情報と関連付けられた前記媒体の形状および大きさを複合する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記所定のキャリブレーション方法は、前記媒体面の所定の少なくとも2つの位置または該媒体面に設けられた少なくとも2つのキャリブレーションマークを、ユーザーが所定の順番でタッチすることにより、前記情報処理手段が、該媒体面の所定の位置またはキャリブレーションマークへのタッチ位置およびタッチした順番を含み形成されるパターンから定義される前記媒体の載置位置および載置方向または、該載置位置、載置方向およびコード情報を認識するキャリブレーション方法である、
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記所定のキャリブレーション方法は、前記媒体面の所定の少なくとも3つの位置または該媒体面に設けられた少なくとも3つのキャリブレーションマークを、ユーザーがタッチすることにより、前記情報処理手段が、該媒体面の所定の位置またはキャリブレーションマークへのタッチ位置により形成されるパターンから定義される前記媒体の載置位置・方向または、該載置位置、方向およびコード情報を認識するキャリブレーション方法である、
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報処理手段は、
前記媒体面の所定の位置または前記所定のキャリブレーションマークを、最初にユーザーがタッチした時間を基準とし、次に前記媒体面の所定の位置または前記所定のキャリブレーションマークをタッチするまでの経過時間を計測し、該経過時間、または該経過時間と該媒体面の所定の位置またはキャリブレーションマークへのタッチ位置およびタッチした順番を含み形成されるパターンとの組み合わせにより、前記媒体のコード情報を認識する
ことを特徴とする請求項8または9のいずれかに記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記所定のキャリブレーション方法は、
前記媒体面にユーザーがテキストおよび/またはイメージを描画することにより、前記情報処理手段が、前記テキストおよび/または前記イメージから定義される前記媒体の載置位置・方向または、該載置位置、方向およびコード情報を認識するキャリブレーション方法である、
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記所定のキャリブレーション方法は前記媒体のユーザー認証を兼ねる
ことを特徴とする請求項8~11のいずれかに記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記キャリブレーションマークは、媒体面に印刷された数字、文字、記号、アイコン等のテキストおよび/またはイメージによりユーザーに示される
ことを特徴とする請求項8または9のいずれかに記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体面の所定の位置は、前記媒体の角部近傍の位置または前記媒体の外縁部近傍の位置である
ことを特徴とする請求項8または9のいずれかに記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体面の所定の位置は、媒体面に設けられた孔部および/または切り欠き部によりユーザーに示される位置である
ことを特徴とする請求項8または9のいずれかに記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体の載置面には、滑り止めまたは粘着剤が設けられている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体の形状はカード状またはコイン状である
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報処理手段の第1ステップは、
さらに、前記コード情報と対応付けられたアプリケーションおよび/またはコンテンツを起動させ、前記媒体面をタッチおよび/または滑動するタッチ操作で該アプリケーションおよび/またはコンテンツの実行を制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報入力システムは、
さらに、情報処理装置を備え、
前記コード情報と対応付けられたアプリケーションおよび/またはコンテンツを該情報処理装置において起動させ、前記媒体面をタッチおよび/または滑動するタッチ操作で該アプリケーションおよび/またはコンテンツの実行を制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報処理手段は、
前記所定のキャリブレーション方法に代えて、
前記媒体の所定位置に設けられ、該コード情報が記録されたRFIDと、該RFIDに記録された情報を読み取るRFIDリーダーと、前記コード情報を認識する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報入力システムは、
タッチパネルの操作面の画像を撮像する光学読み取り手段と、該撮像画像を解析する解析手段と、を備え、
前記情報処理手段は、前記所定のキャリブレーション方法に代えて、該タッチパネルに載置した前記媒体の輪郭による形状・大きさ・載置位置の認識し、および/または該媒体面上に印刷された画像を該解析手段に解析させることにより、前記コード情報を認識する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体には、所定のアルゴリズムに基づいて前記コード情報が定義された、所定の波長光で読み取ることができるドットパターンが印刷されており、
前記情報処理手段は、
前記光学読み取り手段に該所定の波長光のみを撮像させて該ドットパターンを読み取らせ、
前記解析手段に該ドットパターンを解析させて、前記コード情報を認識する
ことを特徴とする請求項21記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体は、前記タッチパネルに対面する面または媒体内部の所定位置に導電体を備え、
前記情報処理手段は、該導電体の個数と配置位置、または各導電体の静電容量の大きさの違いを感知することにより、前記媒体情報を認識することを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体は、ユーザーの指先によりタッチされるタッチ層と、該タッチに面接した前記導電体部と電気的に接続された導電体と、を有することを特徴とする請求項23記載の情報入力システム。
- 前記導電体は、前記タッチパネル表面上または該タッチパネル表面に載置された前記媒体面上をタッチしたユーザーの指先と異なる静電容量特性を有し、
前記情報処理手段はそれらを判別する
ことを特徴とする請求項23または24に記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記情報処理手段は、
前記所定のキャリブレーション方法に代えて、
請求項18記載の前記RFIDおよびRFIDリーダーにより前記媒体のコード情報を認識し、
請求項21記載の前記導電体の配置位置により前記媒体の載置位置および載置方向を認識する
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の情報入力システム。 - 静電容量方式によりユーザーからの操作を受け付けるタッチパネルと、
該タッチパネルを入力手段とする情報処理手段と、
該タッチパネルに載置される薄板状の媒体と、
からなる情報入力システムであって、
前記情報処理手段は、
所定のキャリブレーション方法により、該媒体に定義されたコード情報、該媒体の載置位置および載置方向からなる媒体情報を認識する処理、
を実行することを特徴とする情報入力システム。 - 静電容量方式のタッチパネルを入力手段として備える情報処理手段に実行させるプログラムであって、
当該タッチパネルには薄板状の媒体が載置されるものとし、
所定のキャリブレーション方法により、該媒体に定義されたコード情報、該媒体の載置位置および載置方向からなる媒体情報を認識する第1ステップと、
ユーザーが該媒体面を、タッチおよび/または滑動するタッチ操作によりタッチした位置を特定するための、当該タッチパネルの座標系における座標値を認識する第2ステップと、
を情報処理手段に実行させることを特徴とするプログラム。 - 静電容量方式のタッチパネルを入力手段として備える情報処理手段に実行させるプログラムであって、
当該タッチパネルには薄板状の媒体が載置されるものとし、
所定のキャリブレーション方法により、該媒体に定義されたコード情報、該媒体の載置位置および載置方向からなる媒体情報を認識する処理を、
情報処理手段に実行させることを特徴とするプログラム。 - 情報処理手段が入力手段として備える、静電容量方式のタッチパネルに載置される媒体であって、
前記タッチパネルにおける前記媒体の載置位置、載置方向、およびコード情報を前記情報処理手段が認識するためにユーザーが行うべき操作を指示するイメージおよび/またはテキストが印刷されている、
ことを特徴とする媒体。 - 前記導電体は、ドット状の導電体と該ドット状の導電体を接続する線状の導電体により形成されている、請求項23記載の情報入力システム。
- 前記媒体は、アルミ箔または導電紙であることを特徴とする請求項30記載の媒体。
- 前記媒体は、カーボンが含有されていることを特徴とする請求項30記載の媒体
- 前記媒体は、導電糸を織って形成されていることを特徴とする請求項30記載の媒体。
- 静電容量方式によりユーザーからの操作を受け付けるタッチパネルと、
該タッチパネルを入力手段とする情報処理手段と、
該タッチパネルに載置される薄板状の媒体と、
からなる情報入力システムであって、
前記薄板状の媒体は、一部又は全部が導電体であり、
ユーザーの指先によりタッチされるタッチ層と、前記タッチパネルに面した前記導電体が一体として形成され、
前記情報処理手段は、
前記タッチパネルの接面に形成された導電体の形状、配置または静電容量の大きさの違いを感知することにより、前記媒体情報を認識することを特徴とする情報入力システム。 - 前記情報入力システムは、
さらに、情報処理装置を備え、
前記媒体情報と対応付けられたアプリケーションおよび/またはコンテンツを該情報処理装置において起動させ、前記媒体面をタッチおよび/または滑動するタッチ操作で該アプリケーションおよび/またはコンテンツの実行を制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項35記載の情報入力システム。 - 前記媒体のタッチ層は面状に導電体を形成し、前記タッチパネルの接面に複数点に導電体が点状に配置されることを特徴とする請求項35に記載の情報入力システム。
- 前記媒体は、第1の特性を有する導電体で形成され、前記タッチパネルに面接した領域に第2の特性を有する導電体が点状に配置されることを特徴とする請求項35記載の情報入力システム。
- 前記ユーザーの指先に代えて、スタイラスペンによりタッチされることを特徴とする、請求項24、25、35のいずれかに記載の情報入力システム。
- 情報処理手段が入力手段として備える、静電容量方式のタッチパネルに載置される媒体であって、
ユーザーの指先により前記媒体にタッチして操作を指示するイメージおよび/またはテキストが印刷されており、
前記媒体は、一部又は全部が導電体であり、
前記ユーザーの指先によりタッチされるタッチ層と、前記タッチパネルに面接した前記導電体部が一体として形成され、
前記情報処理手段は、前記導電体の形状、配置または静電容量の大きさの違いを感知することにより、前記媒体情報および、前記タッチパネルにおける該媒体の載置位置、載置方向を認識し、該媒体情報と対応付けられたアプリケーションおよび/またはコンテンツを該情報処理装置において起動させ、該媒体面をタッチおよび/または滑動するタッチ操作で該アプリケーションおよび/またはコンテンツの実行を制御する
ことを特徴とする媒体。 - 前記導電体は、アルミ箔または導電紙であることを特徴とする請求項40記載の媒体。
