図6には、本発明の第2の実施形態に係るエアバッグ装置としての助手席用エアバッグ装置50を構成するエアバッグ52が図1に対応する斜視図にて示されており、図7にはエアバッグ52が図2に対応する斜視図にて示されている。これらの図に示される如く、助手席用エアバッグ装置50は、エアバッグ52における少なくとも乗員P側を向く後面で、バッグ幅方向中央部が凹んだ形状に展開される点で、第1の実施形態に係る助手席用エアバッグ装置10とは異なる。
図9には、本発明の第3の実施形態に係るエアバッグ装置としての助手席用エアバッグ装置60を構成するエアバッグ62が図1に対応する斜視図にて示されており、図10には助手席用エアバッグ装置60の作動状態における自動車Vの車室C内の前部が、図3に対応する模式的な側断面図にて示されている。これらの図に示される如く、助手席用エアバッグ装置60は、そのエアバッグ62がエアバッグ52に相当する上体用エアバッグ64に加えて、乗員Pの膝Kを保護するための下側展開部としてのニーエアバッグ66を備える点で、第2の実施形態に係る助手席用エアバッグ装置50とは異なる。
図11には、本発明の第4の実施形態に係るエアバッグ装置としての助手席用エアバッグ装置70の作動状態における自動車Vの車室C内の前部が、図3に対応する模式的な側断面図にて示されている。この図に示される如く、助手席用エアバッグ装置70は、そのエアバッグ72が仕切布38を有せず構成されている点で、第1の実施形態に係る助手席用エアバッグ装置10とは異なる。
Claims (8)
- インストルメントパネルにおける車両上下方向の上側及び車両前後方向の後側を共に向く部分の内側に配置されたガス発生装置と、
前記ガス発生装置からガス供給を受けて、車幅方向において互いに離間して膨張、展開される一対の外側展開部と、
前記一対の外側展開部を、少なくとも車両前後方向の後側、車両上下方向の上側及び下側において連結し、該一対の外側展開部の展開に伴って展開される内側展開部と、
を備えたエアバッグ装置。 - 前記内側展開部は、展開されて前記一対の外側展開部の間に閉空間を形成するように、該一対の外側展開部の周縁を単一の基布にて連結して構成されている請求項1記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記閉空間を、車両前後方向の前側の第1空間と後側の第2空間とに仕切る仕切布をさらに備え、
前記第1空間に前記ガス発生装置からのガスが供給されるように構成されている請求項2記載のエアバッグ装置。 - 前記仕切布は、前記第1空間における車両上下方向の上部が下部よりも車両前後方向の後側に位置するように、傾斜した形状に展開される請求項3記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記内側展開部を貫通して前記仕切布に接合され、ガス供給を受けて、乗員の膝と前記インストルメントパネルとの間に膨張、展開される下側展開部をさらに備え、
前記仕切布には、前記インフレータからのガスを、第1空間を通じて前記下側展開部内に流入させるガス供給孔が形成されている請求項3又は請求項4記載のエアバッグ装置。 - 前記一対の外側展開部は、
該外側展開部の上縁に沿って長手となるように膨張、展開される第1チューブと、
該外側展開部の下縁に沿って長手となるように膨張、展開される第2チューブと、
前記第1チューブ及び第2チューブとは離間して該第1チューブと第2チューブとの間で膨張、展開される第3チューブと、
前記第1~第3チューブの車両前後方向の前端部を連通するように膨張、展開され、該第1~第3チューブに前記ガス発生装置からのガスを導くヘッダ部と、
車両上下方向に沿って延在されると共に前記第1~第3チューブの車両前後方向の後端部を連通するように膨張、展開される乗員側チューブと、
前記第1チューブ、第2チューブ、前記ヘッダ部及び前記乗員側チューブとで囲まれた部分、並びに、前記第3チューブ、第2チューブ、前記ヘッダ部及び前記乗員側チューブとで囲まれた部分を塞ぐカバー部と、
を含んで構成されている請求項1~請求項5の何れか1項記載のエアバッグ装置。 - 前記第3チューブは、側面視で車両急減速時にシートベルト装置にて車両用シートに拘束された乗員の頭部が移動する方向に長手となるように膨張、展開される請求項6記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記内側展開部は、少なくとも車両前後方向の後側において、幅方向の中央部が前記外側展開部側に対し凹んだ形状に展開される請求項1~請求項7の何れか1項記載のエアバッグ装置。
