Be it known that we, NIcHoLAs S. VEDDER, of the cit)v of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State oi' New York, and TOMAS S. HEISTER, of Lansingburg, in said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original ornamental Design for Illuminati-ng Base-Burning Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving of a stove having our said new design.
One part of our invention is the design for the urn, consisting of the four-sided house-like bod)` A, having an angle-roof, b, with the top ornaments c, latticcd sides d, front ornament c, contracted lower portion f, and corner-inniv dles composed of gaping heads g, stems li, and brackets i, all shaped in ornamental forni, and combined substantially as represented in the aforesaid engraving.
Another part of our invention is the design for the cover B, consisting of the series of ornaments a` on the concave surface C, the scalloped ornamentation lo around and upon the upper` part of the convex surface D, and the serrato ornamentation Lalong the lower part thereof, and the outer border E, having a flat top, slightly inclined sides, and beveled corner, all formed and combined substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
Another part of our invention is the design for the top and bottom ring-plates F F' of the upper section, consisting of the outer somcwhat inclined side portion m, the beveled corner-portion m', the surface n, the ornamented scalloped edging o, and the inner molding p, all shaped and arranged as shown in the aforesaid cut.
Another part of our invention is the design for a panel-ornament for the upper section, consisting of the middle ornamental bar-like portion G, the branching scroll'like terminal portions H, the intermediate sp1-a f-likc parts I, and the crossing looped side bars J, and tcp bars K, all shaped and arranged together substantiallj.' as represented in the aforesaid print.
Another part ot' our invention is the design for the staves of the upper section, consisting of the rectangular border ornamentations L, and two of the compound ornaments, each composed of the parts G H IJ K, arranged upon the sub-cylindrical surface, substantially as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
Another part of our invention is the design for the doors M, consisting of the two-light frames q, having circular arched tops, convex side moldings r, dat faces with rows ot' alter nate large and small ornamental proiections s thereon, the bottom seroll-ornaanents i, and the ornamental arch-caps all shaped and arranged substantially as represented inthe out aforesaid.
Another part of our invention is the design for the lower rim-plate N of the combustionchamber section, consisting ol' thc outer ornamental side portion O and the series of circu lar apertures l" in the upper portion, all shaped and disposed so as to present substantially the same ornamental appearance as is represented in the aforesaid print.
Another part of this invention is the design for the doors of the lire-pot section, consisting ofthe two-light angular frames u, having the rows of alternate semi-globular and oval projections o on the flat face thereof, the convex outer molding c', and the scrollscaps w, all shaped and arranged together substantially as shown in the aforesaid cut.
Another part oi' our invention is the design for the upper plate Q and bottoni plate Q of the base-section, consisting of the somewhatinclined outer portion R, the beveled cornerportion R1, the dat top portion R2, and the convex molding S, with the serrate ornamentation T along its lower part, all shaped and arranged,substantially as shown in thc aforesaid print.
Another part of our invention is the design for the panels of the base-section, consisting of the central compound ornament U, surface V, bead x, row of ornamental projections y, surface W, and series of interualiy-ernaniented circular forms X, all shaped and arranged together substantially as represented in aforesaid engraving.
Another part of this invention is the design for thc legs, consisting of the semi-globular knee-portion Y, having thereon four feathered radial ribs, z, and surrounded by the scroll` border Z, all shaped and arranged together as shown in the accompanying print.
What we claim as our invention is- 1. 'lhe design for the urn consisting of the house-like body A, having the parts b c d e f, and handles composed of the parts g h z', all shaped and arranged as described.
2. The design for the cover B, consisting of the parts a C, lc D l, and E, all shaped and combined as set forth.
3. The design for the top and bottom rings F F of the upper section, consisting of the parts m, mi', n, o, and p, all shaped and arranged as described.
4. The design for the panel-ornam ents of the upper section consisting of the parts G, H, I, J, and K, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
5. The design for a stave of the upper seetion consisting of the border-ornamentations L, and two ornalnents each composed of the parts G, H, I, J, and K, all shaped and arranged as set forth.
6. The design for the doors M, composed of the parts q, r, s, t, and t', all shaped and arranged together as described.
7. The design for the lower ring-plate N of the combustion-chamber section consisting of thc outer ornamental portion 0, and series of circular apertures P in the upper portion, all shaped and arranged as set forth.
8. The design for the doors of the ire-pot section consisting of the parts u, o, vf, and w, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
9. The design for the upper plate Q and lower plate Q of the base-section consisting ot' the parts R, R21?, S, and T, all shaped and arranged together as set forth.
10. The design for the panels of the basesection consisting of the parts U, V, m, y, W, and X, all shaped and arranged as described.
11. The design for the legs consisting of the parts Y, z, and Z, all shaped and arranged together as shown and specified.
