DESIGN FOR A HEATING-STOVE.
Specilication forming part of Design No. 5,157, dated August 1, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, NICHOLAS S. VEDDER and FRANCIS RITCHIE, each ofthe city of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Stoves, of Which the fol.- lowing is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photographic representation cfa stove having our said design.
One part of our invention is the design for the urn N, composed of the body o andbail-Work p, all shaped and arranged tog'ether and ornamented so as to appear substantially as represented in the accompanyingphotograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the urn-base Q, shaped and ornainented as shown in the photograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the cover R, as distinguished by the rows of ornaments s and t, all shaped and arranged together on the curved surface of the cover so as to appear as represented in the aforesaid photograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the top riln U, as characterized by the rounded edge o and row of ornaments w, shaped and arranged on the surface of the rim as shown in the photograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the upper section X, as distinguished by the upright rows of orna ments y, shaped and arranged upon a plaid or horizontally and vertically-grooved ground so as to present substantially the saine appearance as is shown in the aforesaid photograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the rim Z, as distinguished by its rounded edge a and the rows of ornaments b, shaped and arranged on the curved surface ofthe rim, as shown in the photograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the door-frames C, as distinguished by the ornament (Z arranged around the curved-top illl'uninating openings in the doors, and the scroll-piece e, all shaped and arranged together so as to appear substantially as represented in the photograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the rim-plate F, as characterized by its rounded edge q and rows of ornaments h on the rim-plate, as shown in the photograph.. Another part of our invention consists of the contour of the section surrounding the {ire-pot, as distinguished by the round, straight, downwardly-tapered upper part I and the round, curved downwardly-tapered lower portion J, combined and arranged together, as shown in the photograph, without regard to the ornamentation of the parts I and J of the section. Another part of our invention consists of the ornamental open-work configuration k of the upper section I, as shown in the photograph. Another part of our invention consists of the ornamental open -work conguration 1 of the curved lower section J, as shown in the photograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the base-rim M, as distinguished by the row of ornaments a, shaped and arranged thereon, as represented in the photograph. Another part of our invention is the design for the base l), as distinguished by the rows of ornaments r q and border molding f, all shaped and arranged thereon so as to appear as shown in the photo- `graph. Another part of our invention is the design for the damper-frame S, as consisting of the ornaments u, shaped and arranged between and along the openings a', as shown in the photograph. Another part ot' our invention is the design for the leg T, as shown in the photograph.
