Abstract

Se describe una pelicula de varias capas, encogible con calor, que tiene por lo menos tres capas, donde la pelicula tiene elevadas propiedades opticas, elevada tenacidad y encogimiento conveniente en la direccion transversal. La capa interna o las capas internas comprenden por lo menos un polimero impartidor de tenacidad, seleccionado del grupo que consiste de polietileno de baja densidad, polietileno lineal de baja densidad, polietileno de alta densidad, sus mezclas; copolimero aleatorio de polipropileno, copolimero de estireno/butadieno, poliestireno, copolimero de etileno-acetato de vinilo y copolimero de ciclico-olefina; condicionado a que cuando esta presente mas de una capa interna, las capas internas pueden ser iguales o diferentes. Las capas exteriores, que pueden ser iguales o diferentes, comprenden por lo menos uno de los siguientes: polietileno de baja densidad, una mezcla de polietileno de baja densidad y polietileno lineal de baja densidad; una mezcla de polietileno de baja densidad y polietileno de muy baja densidad, poliestireno, copolimero de etileno-acetato de vinilo; una mezcla de copolimero de etileno-acetato de vinilo y polietileno lineal de baja densidad; copolimero de ciclico-olefina; copolimero de estireno-butadieno, o copolimero aleatorio de polipropileno; condicionado a que las capas exteriores esten desprovistas de una resina de polietileno homogeneamente ramificada, preparada con un catalizador de un solo sitio. Las peliculas de la invencion tienen valores de turbidez inferiores a aproximadamente 15 por ciento; un modulo secante al 2 por ciento mayor que aproximadamente 344.5 MPa, y un encogimiento en direccion transversal mayor que 0 por ciento.
