Abstract

La présente invention divulgue un oligosaccharide d'alginate et ses dérivés avec un degré de polymérisation compris dans la marge de 2 à 22. L'oligosaccharide d'alginate est constitué de l'acide (beta)-D-mannuronique lié par des liaisons 1-4 glycosidiques. Les dérivés avec le terminal réduit à la position 1 du radical carboxyle peuvent être préparés par dégradation oxydante. La présente invention divulgue également un procédé de fabrication de l'oligosaccharide d'alginate et de ses dérivés, qui inclut les procédures qui consistent à faire réagir une solution d'alginate pendant 2 à 6 heures dans un autoclave à un pH 2-6 et à la température de 100 à 120°C, et à ajuster le pH à 7 après l'arrêt de la réaction, après quoi l'oligosaccharide résultant est oxydé en présence d'un oxydant pour obtenir un produit de dégradation oxydante. L'oligosaccharide d'alginate de l'invention et ses dérivés peuvent être utilisés dans la fabrication d'un médicament pour la prophylaxie et le traitement de la maladie d'Alzheimer MA et du diabète.
