Abstract

Description
본 발명은 주사 장치의 개량에 관한 것으로, 특히, 제어된 양의 약액을 투여하는 휴대형 주사 장치의 개량에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 이러한 주사 장치는 1회 용량(dose)의 인슐린 또는 인슐린 타입 약액을 투여해야 하는 당뇨병 환자가 사용하고 있다. 이러한 주사 장치는 다른 약액의 주사에도 적합하다는 것이 이해될 것이다.
한 때는, 이러한 1회 용량의 약액의 투여를 1회용 주사기를 사용하여 행하였다. 1회용 주사기를 사용하기 위해서는, 먼저, 별도의 약병 또는 다른 용기에 담긴 약액을 주사기에 채운 다음, 1회 용량을 주사하게 되어 있다. 그러나, 이러한 주사기에는 많은 단점이 있었다. 특히, 이러한 주사기는 허약자가 사용하기에는 적합하지 않았다. 이러한 주사기를 사용함으로 인해 타인에게 사회적인 오점을 남길 수 있다는 점에서 대중화가 어려운 문제가 있었다.
이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 여러 가지의 소위 펜형(pen-type) 주사기가 개발되었다. 이러한 장치는 소형이기 때문에 웃도리 주머니 등에 휴대가 가능하고, 주사기 내부에 수용된 카트리지 또는 앰플로부터 여러 번 투여하는 것을 가능하게 한다. 본 발명은 이러한 펜형 주사기에 특히 적용된다.
이러한 펜형 주사기는 1회용 피하 주사기에 대한 상당한 개선점을 제공하지만, 여전히 문제점을 가지고 있다.
본 발명은 사용의 용이성 및 사용자와의 상호 작용에 대한 개선을 제공한다.
이하, 첨부 도면을 참조하여 본 발명을 예로서 설명한다.

도 1 내지 도 3을 참조하면, 본 발명에 따른 펜형 주사기(2)가 도시되어 있다. 이 주사기(2)는 단부 캡 또는 커버(6)가 분리 가능하게 고정되는 주 하우징(4)을 포함하고 있다.
주 하우징(4)의 제1 단부에는, 제어 패널 영역(8)이 마련되어 있고, 이 제어 패널 영역(8)에는, 전형적으로는 LCD 디스플레이인 표시 패널(10)과, 제1 용량 버튼(12), 및 제2 용량 버튼(14)이 포함되어 있다. 제1 및 제2 용량 버튼(12, 14)은 투여할 약액의 1회 용량을 증가 또는 감소시키기 위해 조작된다. 도시된 실시형태에서의 제어 패널 영역(10)에는 장전 버튼(16)도 포함되어 있다.
주 하우징의 제1 단부에는 투여 버튼(18)도 마련되어 있고, 이 투여 버튼(18)은 눌려지지 않은 상태에서는 주 하우징(4)과 동일 평면을 이루는 것이 바람직하다.
제어 패널 영역(10)의 양측에는 다수의 홈 또는 오목부(20)가 주사기(2)의 종축을 따라 마련되어 있고, 이들 홈 또는 오목부(20)는 사용자가 주사기(2)를 잡는 것을 돕는다.
주 하우징(4)의 제2 단부에는 바늘 유닛(22)이 분리 가능하게 결합되어 있다. 또한, 주 하우징(4)의 제2 단부에는 소정의 형상으로 된 형상부(24)가 마련되어 있다.
사용 시, 주 하우징(4)의 형상부(24) 배면측에 약액 카트리지(40) 또는 앰플을 보관하게 되며, 따라서, 형상부(24)는 사용자가 카트리지(40)를 볼 수 있게 하도록 투명한 것이 바람직하다.
주 하우징(4)의 제2 단부에는 프리이밍(priming) 버튼(26)도 마련되어 있다. 단부 캡(6)이 주 하우징(4)의 제2 단부 위의 제 위치에 설치돤 때는, 부주의로 인해 프라이밍 버튼(26)을 누르게 되거나 바늘 유닛(22)에 의해 찔릴 가능성이 없게 된다는 것이 이해될 것이다. 또한, 단부 캡 또는 커버(6)가 제 위치에 설치되어 있는 지의 여부를 검출할 수 있도록 주 하우징(4)의 제2 단부에 커버 검출 스위치(28)가 마련될 수도 있다.
도 3에서, 상기한 버튼들 각각에 대응하는 프라이밍 접점(30), 장전 접점(32), 제1 용량 접점(34), 제2 용량 접점(36)을 볼 수 있다. 또한, 투여 버튼(18)에 대응하는 투여 접점(19)도 도시되어 있다.
도 3을 참조하면, 하나의 배터리 또는 다수의 배터리 등의 전원(38)을 위한 적절한 장소가 마련되어 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 또한, 약액 카트리지(40) 또는 앰플이 배치되는 적절한 영역도 마련되어 있다. 이 영역은, 사용자가 필요 시 카트리지(40) 또는 앰플을 교환하기 위해 주 하우징(4)의 분리 가능한 형상부(24)를 통해 접근하는 것이 가능하다. 다른 예의 카트리지 접근 수단이 도 4 내지 도 9와 관련하여 개시되어 있다.
주 하우징(4)의 제3 영역에는, 전원(38)에 의해 동작하고 약액 카트리지(40) 또는 앰플에 대해 작용하는 구동 기구(42)가 마련되어 있다.
카트리지(40) 또는 앰플은, 일 단부가 커버(46)의 헤드 단부에 의해 폐쇄되고 다른 단부가 가동(可動) 마개(48) 또는 스토퍼에 의해 밀봉되는 용기(44) 또는 슬리브로 구성되어 있다. 카트리지(40) 또는 앰플이 제 위치에 설치된 때, 바늘 유닛(22)이 커버(46)를 관통하고, 커버(46)쪽으로의 마개(48)의 이동에 의해 카트리지(40) 또는 앰플 내에 담겨 있는 약액이 배출된다. 카트리지(40)는 ISO/FDIS 11608 Part 3에 따른 3 ml 카트리지 또는 상기 주사기에 적합한 임의의 다른 카트리지일 수도 있다.

구동 기구(42)는 전자 제어 유닛(도시되지 않음)의 제어 하에 모터(54)에 의해 작동된다. 모터(54)는, 피스톤(50)이 제1 위치와 제2 위치 사이에서 이동될 수 있게 하기 위해 역회전 가능해야 한다. 도 3에서, 모터(54)는 제3 회전자(58)의 회전에 의해 피스톤(50)이 제3 회전자(58)에 대해 상대 이동하도록 기어 열(列)(42)을 통해 피스톤(50)을 구동시킬 수 있게 되어 있는 것을 볼 수 있다.

제어 버튼들은 다수의 기능을 가지고 있다. 제1 및 제2 용량 버튼(12, 14)은 사용자가 소망의 1회 용량을 선택하는 것을 가능하게 한다. 장전 버튼(16)은 사용자가 소망의 1회 용량의 선택을 확인하는 것을 가능하게 한다. 제1 용량 버튼은 1회 용량의 레벨을 증가시킬수 있고, 제2 용량 버튼은 1회 용량의 레벨을 감소시킬 수 있다. 용량 버튼(12, 14)을 눌러(그리고 누른 상태를 짧은 시간, 즉, 1초 내지 2초간 유지하여), 1회 용량값을 0으로 리셋시킬 수도 있다. 그 다음, 사용자는 1회 용량값의 레벨을 1단계(또는 1/2단계)씩 증가(또는 감소)시킬 수 있다.
용량 버튼(12, 14)은 한번 누를 때마다 선택된 1회 용량값이 1단계(또는 1/2단계)씩 증가 또는 감소되도록 구성되어 있다. 이와는 다른 실시형태에서는, 상기 버튼들 중 하나를 일단 누르고 그 상태를 유지시킴으로써, 1회 용량값이 스크롤(업 또는 다운)되게 구성하여 1회 용량을 보다 신속하게 변경시킬 수 있게 하는 것도 가능하다.
투여 버튼(18)은 사용자가 1회 용량의 투여를 개시할 수 있게 한다. 프라이밍 버튼(26)은 카트리지(40)로부터 1회 용량의 1단위분을 공급한다. 이와 같이 하여, 주사기(2)내에 공기가 있는 경우라도 프라이밍 버튼(26)을 사용하여 그러한 공기를 배출시킬 수 있다. 카트리지(40)에 접근이 가능하도록 도어 해제 걸쇠가 마련되어 있다.
카트리지(40)는 표준 크기를 가지고 있기 때문에, 각 카트리지(40)는 구동 기구에 의해 구동되는 플런저의 동일 주행에 의해 비워진다. 플런저(50)가 일단 최대 신장 위치에 있게 되면, 카트리지(40)는 비워진 것으로 인지되고, 이에 대한 표시가 사용자에게 제공된다.
비워진 카트리지(40)를 제거하기 위해 도어 해제 걸쇠를 동작시키면, 구동 기구(42)가 동작하여 리드 스크류(60)를 역방향으로 회전시키고, 이에 따라, 리드 스크류(60)가 기지(旣知)의 기준점에 마련되어 있는 단부 스톱 스위치(52)에 충돌할 때까지 플런저(50)의 후퇴가 이루어지게 된다.
새로운 카트리지(40)가, 예를 들어, 접촉 스위치(도시되지 않음)를 통해 검출되고, 도어 해제 걸쇠가 폐쇄 상태로 되면, 전자 제어 유닛은 플런저(50)가 카트리지의 마개(48)에 충돌할 때까지 리드 스크류(60)를 전진시킨다. 이러한 동작은 플런저의 자유 단부에 돔(dome)형 접촉 스위치 등의 마이크로스위치(51)를 설치함으로써 편리하게 행해질 수 있다.
마개(48)의 정확한 위치가 후단측의 단부 스톱 스위치(52)를 기준으로 하여 계산될 수 있기 때문에, 카트리지(40)내에 저장되어 있는 약액의 단위분의 수를 결정할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 본 발명의 주사기(20를 이용하면, 반만 비워진 또는 부정확하게 채워진 카트리지(40)도 사용 가능하다. 바람직하게는, 카트리지의 내부에 저장된 약액의 단위분의 수를 결정한 상태에서 전자 제어 유닛은 공급할 1회 용량이 남아 있는 양보다 많게 설정되지 않게 한다.
도 4 내지 도 9의 실시형태에서는, 탭(tab)(90)이 마련되어 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 이 탭(90)은 주 하우징(4)상에서 또는 그 내부에서 미끄럼 이동하도록 구속되어 있다. 도 6 및 도 7에서 볼 수 있는 바와 같이, 탭(90)은 주 하우징(4)상에 마련된 홈(91)내에서 미끄럼 이동하도록 되어 있다. 탭(90)이 후퇴한 때, 슬라이더 기구(도 5 내지 도 9)에 의해 제1 및 제2 죠오(jaw)(92, 94)가 카트리지(40) 또는 어댑터(43)의 목 부분으로부터 반경방향 외측으로 이동하게 되어 카트리지(40)의 제거를 가능하게 한다.
슬라이더 기구는 도 6 및 도 7에서 가장 명확하게 볼 수 있다. 제1 및 제2 죠오(92, 94)는 각각 긴 아암(arm)(93, 95)에 배치되어 있고, 이들 아암(93, 95)은 죠오(92, 94)로부터 멀리 떨어진 단부에 위치한 지점(96)을 중심으로 피벗할 수 있게 되어 있다. 아암(93, 95)들 사이에는 스프링 수단(97)이 마련되어, 아암(93, 95)들을 서로 멀어지는 방향으로 가압하게 되어 있다. 슬라이더 기구는 주 하우징(4)에 형성되어 있는 오목부 내에 배치되며, 이 오목부에는 아암(93, 95)의 주행을 제한하기 위한 단부 스토퍼로서 작용하는 벽(98)이 마련되어 있는 것이 편리하다. 이러한 구성에 따라, 일단 탭(90)이 이동하기 시작하면, 이 이동은 아암(93, 95)들이 벽(98)에 접촉하게 될 때까지 스프링 수단(97)의 작용에 의해 서로 이격되는 아암(93, 95)에 의해 보조된다.
탭(90)을 원래의 위치로 복귀시키도록 반대 방향으로 미끄럼 이동시키면, 아암(93, 95)들이 스프링 수단(97)의 작용에 대항하면서 서로 접근하게 되고, 이에 따라, 죠오(92, 94)들이 카트리지(40) 또는 어댑터(43)를 파지하게 된다. 탭(90)을 닫힘 위치에 유지시킬 수 있도록 래칭(latching) 수단이 마련되어 있다.
Claims (7)
- 목 부분을 가진 약액 카트리지(40)로부터 약액을 주사하기 위한 주사 장치에 있어서,상기 주사 장치는 상기 약액 카트리지(40)를 제1 및 제2 보유 수단(92, 94)에 의해 내부에 해제 가능하게 보유하는 주 하우징(4)을 포함하고, 상기 제1 및 제2 보유 수단(92, 94)들 각각은, 상기 약액 카트리지(40)의 상기 목 부분에 결합하여 상기 주 하우징(4)의 내부에 상기 약액 카트리지(40)를 보유시키는 제1 위치와, 상기 약액 카트리지(40)를 상기 주 하우징(4)으로부터 제거할 수 있게 하는 제2 위치 사이에서 이동 가능하게 된 것을 특징으로 하는 주사 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 주사 장치는, 상기 제1 및 제2 보유 수단(92, 94)들 사이에 설치되어 상기 제1 및 제2 보유 수단(92, 94)들을 상기 제2 위치쪽으로 가압하는 스프링 수단(97)과, 상기 제1 및 제2 보유 수단(92, 94)들 각각에 대해 작용하여 상기 제1 및 제2 보유 수단(92, 94)들을 상기 제1 위치쪽으로 가압하는 슬라이더 탭(90)을 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 주사 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 슬라이더 탭(90)이 상기 제1 및 제2 보유 수단들 각각의 외면에 대해 작용하도록 배치된 것을 특징으로 하는 주사 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 슬라이더 탭(90)이 상기 주 하우징(4)에 형성된 홈(91)내에 미끄럼 가능하게 보유되는 것을 특징으로 하는 주사 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 슬라이더 탭(90)이 상기 약액 카트리지(40)의 상기 목 부분에 결합하도록 되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 주사 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 주 하우징(4)은 상기 제1 및 제2 보유 수단(92, 94)이 상기 제2 위치를 넘어 이동하는 것을 방지하는 단부 스토퍼로서 작용하는 벽(98)을 가지고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 주사 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2 보유 수단(92, 94)들이 공통의 피벗점을 중심으로 반경방향으로 이동하도록 된 것을 특징으로 하는 주사 장치.
