Description
本発明は、注入装置の改良に関し、具体的には薬剤の量を制御して投与するための携帯用注入装置の改良に関する。

このような注入装置は、典型的には、糖尿病患者がインスリンまたはインスリンタイプの薬剤の自分自身への投与量を管理するために使用される。このような注入装置が他の薬剤の注入にも好適であることは言うまでもない。

このような投与は、かつては使い捨て注射器を使って管理されていた。すなわち、まず、投与量が別のバイアルまたは別の容器から注射器に充填され、それからその注射器を使って注射された。しかし、このような装置にはいくつかの難点があった。具体的には、病弱者にとってこのような装置は適さなかった。そうでない者にとっては、このような注射器は社会的に不評を買っているため、それを一般に使用することには問題があった。

こうした問題を克服するため、いくつかの、いわゆるペン型注入装置が開発されてきた。これらの装置は小型であるため、上着のポケットなどに入れて運ぶことができ、その上、注入装置に装着されたカートリッジまたはアンプルから投与を繰返し行うことができる。本発明は、特にこのようなペン型注入装置に適用されるものである。

このようなペン型注入装置は、使い捨て皮下用注射器に対してかなりの改善をもたらしているが、依然として残された問題がある。

特に、ペン型注入装置用の駆動系の設計を考える場合、時にはいくつかの相反する技術的な要求が出てくる。駆動系は正確で信頼性が高くなければならないことは当然であるが、それと同時にコンパクトで効率が良いことも要求される。駆動系は信頼性が高く、かつ頑丈でなければならず、製品の寿命が尽きるまで機能することができなければならない。さらに加えて、駆動系は本質的に危険防止措置(フェイルセーフ)が講じられてなければならない。

本発明の利点は、このような問題を解消するか、少なくとも大幅に減らすことができる駆動機構を提供するところにある。さらに、本発明は、使い勝手が改善され、使用者にとって扱いやすくなっているペン型注入装置を提供するものである。

電子機械的駆動機構を使うため、投与動作は使用者がスイッチを操作することによって開始される。このことは、投与ボタンの操作に必要な力は、使用者の快適性と人間工学的な要件を考慮して最適化することが可能であることを意味する。

図4、5および6は、単歯割り出し歯車装置による駆動機構を示す。図示したプッシュプル・ソレノイド270は出力軸272を持つ。出力軸は駆動歯車278に連結されている。駆動歯車278は歯車箱276内を長手方向に駆動される。送りねじの軸280は被動歯車274に連結されている。ここに記述する説明によれば、送りねじが、栓48を薬剤カートリッジ40の内部で前進させるためのピストン手段を包含することは理解されるであろう。被動歯車は歯車箱276の中を長手方向に運動するように置かれている。被動歯車274を駆動歯車278に向かって押しつけるために、被動歯車274の背面と歯車箱との間に、ばね付勢手段、典型的にはコイルばね282が配置されている。被動歯車274および駆動歯車278は、それぞれ、角度をなして配置された歯を備えており、そのため、被動歯車274の歯と駆動歯車278の歯とは互いにかみ合う。

被動歯車274の回転は、ハウジング276の内面に形成された一連のスプライン(図示せず)とかみ合う被動歯車274の外径上に設けられたキー溝(図示せず)によって促進される。スプラインは、被動歯車274と駆動歯車278とが完全にかみ合うのを防止する。駆動歯車がソレノイド270の圧迫行程によって進むと、被動歯車274はばね付勢手段282に対して押されながらスプラインに沿って進み、被動歯車274がスプラインとかみ合わない点に達する。この点に達すると、被動歯車274の歯と駆動歯車278の歯とがかみ合うまで、被動歯車274は、ばね付勢手段の押す力とソレノイドの押す力の組み合わさった作用を受けて回転する(図5)。

被動歯車274は、戻り行程に入るとばね付勢手段282の作用を受けながら戻る。ただし、回転によってキー溝は次のスプライン位置を選ぶので、被動歯車274はスタート位置に相当するが、一つ前のスタート位置より角度的にずれた長手方向の位置に戻る。

この駆動機構はいくつかの長所を持っている。特に、駆動機構が動かなくなるといった恐れのある、あいまいな位置を持たないことである。加えて、この駆動機構は各行程の終わりで係止されるため、誤った投与はほとんど起こらない。

Claims (6)
- ピストン手段が選択的に駆動されて薬剤カートリッジから薬剤を押し出す注入装置のための駆動機構であって、前記駆動機構は、駆動手段270と、前記駆動手段と連動する第一の歯車手段278と、縦軸に沿った運動のみが許される第一の位置と第二の歯車手段274が縦軸の周りにその位置で自由に回転する第二の位置との間で運動することができる第二の歯車手段274と、前記第二歯車手段274と連動する前記ピストン手段280と、前記第一歯車手段278と前記第二歯車手段274の運動がその中で制約されるハウジング276と、前記ハウジング276と前記第二歯車手段274との間に配置されて前記第二歯車手段274を前記第一の位置に向かって付勢する付勢手段282とを具備する注入装置のための駆動機構。
- 前記第二歯車手段274及びハウジング276のうち一方は複数個のスプラインを具備し、前記第二歯車手段274及びハウジング276の他方はキー溝を具備し、前記第二歯車手段274が第1の位置にあるときは、前記スプラインは前記キー溝にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の駆動機構。
- 前記駆動手段270の第一の運動は、前記第一歯車手段278を最初の位置から前記第二歯車手段274に向かって前進させ、そしてさらに前記第二歯車手段274を前記第一位置から前記第二位置まで変位させ、それから前記駆動手段270の第二の運動は、前記第一歯車手段278を前記最初の位置に戻し、その結果、前記第二駆動手段274が回転して、付勢手段282の作用の下に第一の位置まで戻るようになされていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の駆動機構。
- 前記駆動機構270は、プッシュプル・ソレノイドを具備することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の駆動機構。
- 前記付勢手段282は、コイルばねを具備することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の駆動機構。
- 前記ピストン手段は、送りねじを具備することを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の駆動機構。
