Description
ところがパラフィン系に属する粘度指数が80以上の鉱油は、流動点が高いため、オレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマ−組成物に使用した場合、その特長である低温柔軟性を損なう結果となったり、多量に配合すると、パラフィン系鉱油中に含まれるろう分の、オレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマ−組成物への相溶性が悪いため、ブリ−ドアウトし製品外観を損なったりしていた。
このようにオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマ−組成物に鉱油系軟化剤を使用すると、耐候性、低温柔軟性、オイルのブリ−ドによるベタツキのいずれかの問題が生じていた。
本発明に用いる精製鉱物油は、公知の精製鉱物油を使用することができる。その中でもパラフィンを主成分とし、40℃における動粘度が400mm2/s以下、好ましくは300mm2/s以下であることが、ポリプロピレン樹脂との相溶性の点から好ましい。また、本発明に用いる精製鉱物油は、200℃、常圧、1時間での蒸発減量が0.4重量%以下、好ましくは0.2重量%以下であることがフォギング特性の点から特に好ましい。このような精製鉱物油の引火点は、通常、240℃から300℃にある。このような精製鉱物油の一例は、特開2000−302919に開示されている。パラフィン基系原油の常圧蒸留操作によって得られた残油を常套の減圧蒸留操作を行って流出油を得、溶剤抽出または水素化処理によって脱ろうした後、水素化仕上げを行い、更に減圧蒸留によって軽質留分を除去して得ることが好ましい。
本発明に用いられる合成油は、エチレンと炭素数3〜10のα−オレフィンの共重合体であることが好ましく、必要に応じて少量のポリエンを含有しても構わない。用いるα−オレフィンは、1種類でもよく、2種類以上でも構わない。それらの共重合体の中でも、エチレン・プロピレン共重合体が特に好ましい。また、本発明に用いられる合成油のエチレン含量は、50〜80モル%の範囲が好ましく、60〜75モル%の範囲がより好ましく、65〜75モル%の範囲にあることが特に好ましい。
本発明のエラストマ−用プロセスオイルは、エチレン系共重合エラストマ−に配合するのが好適である。本発明で好ましく用いられるエチレン系共重合体エラストマ−は、エチレンと炭素原子数が3〜20のα−オレフィンからなる無定型ランダムな弾性共重合体エラストマ−、或いはエチレンと炭素原子数が3〜20のα−オレフィンと非共役ポリエンとからなる無定形ランダムな弾性共重合体エラストマ−である。
本発明のオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマ−は、上記油展エラストマ−とポリプロピレン系樹脂を含み、非架橋であっても、架橋しても構わないが、ゴム弾性、耐熱性の点で架橋されていることが好ましい。架橋を行なう場合は公知の動的架橋法により製造されることが好ましい。
コ−ルタ−ル、コ−ルタ−ルピッチ等のコ−ルタ−ル類;
ヒマシ油、アマニ油、ナタネ油、大豆油、ヤシ油等の脂肪油;
ト−ル油、蜜ロウ、カルナウバロウ、ラノリン等のロウ類;
リシノ−ル酸、パルミチン酸、ステアリン酸、ステアリン酸バリウム、ステアリン酸カルシウム等の脂肪酸またはその金属塩;
石油樹脂、クマロンインデン樹脂、アタクチックポリプロピレン等の合成高分子物質;
ジオクチルフタレ−ト、ジオクチルアジペ−ト、ジオクチルセバケ−ト等のエステル系
可塑剤;
その他マイクロクリスタリンワックス、サブ(ファクチス)、液状ポリブタジエン、変性液状ポリブタジエン、液状チオコ−ル;など
が挙げられる。
ビニルステアレ−トのような多官能性ビニルモノマ−を配合することができる。
[実施例1]
特開平2000−302919と同様に、水素化精製したパラフィン系鉱油から減圧蒸留操作により軽質留分を10重量%除去し、精製鉱物油(1)を得た。40℃における動粘度は99mm2/s、引火点は275℃であった。また、10gの試料を200℃、常圧、1時間加熱した時の蒸発減量は0.14重量%であった。
油展ポリプロピレンと油展しないホモポリプロピレンの融点の差の結果を表に示す。
[実施例2]
実施例1において、精製鉱物油(1)/合成油(1)が7/3の割合になるように充分攪拌混合し、プロセス油(2)を得た。そして、実施例1と同様の方法により、油展ポリプロピレンと油展しないホモポリプロピレンを得て、それぞれの融点をDSCにより測定した。結果を表に示す。
次いでバンバリ−ミキサ−を用いてエチレン系エラストマ−(1)100重量部とプロセス油(1)80重量部を充分混練したのちペレット化して、油展エラストマ−(2)を得た。油展エラストマ−(2)のペレット80重量部とプロピレンホモポリマ−(1)のペレット20重量部、架橋剤として、2,5−ジメチル−2,5−ジ−(tert−ブチルペルオキシ)ヘキシン−3(POX)0.4重量部、架橋助剤としてジビニルベンゼン(DVB)0.4重量部をヘンシェルミキサ−で充分撹拌混合し、実施例1と同様にオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマ−のペレット(2)を得た。更に実施例1と同様に成形外観、アイゾット衝撃強度、フォギング性、ベタツキを評価した。結果を表1に示す。
[比較例1]
実施例2において、合成油(1)を使用せず、精製鉱物油(1)のみをエチレン系エラストマ−の油展に使用した以外は実施例2と同様に行った。
[比較例2]
実施例2において、精製鉱物油(1)を使用せず、合成油(1)のみをエチレン系エラストマ−の油展に使用した以外は実施例2と同様に行った。
[比較例3]
精製鉱物油(2)および非晶質重合体(1)を充分撹拌混合し、プロセス油を得た(混合比は表に示す)。そして、実施例2と同様の方法により、油展ポリプロピレンと油展しないホモポリプロピレンを得て、それぞれの融点をDSCにより測定した。結果を表に示す。
次いで、バンバリ−ミキサ−を用いてエチレン系エラストマ−(1)100重量部と精製鉱物油(2)(出光興産株式会社製、品名「PW−380」)25重量部、非晶質重合体(1)(プロピレン・1−ブテン非晶質共重合体:プロピレン含量73モル%、密度0.87g/cm3、溶融粘度6000cPs(190℃)、MN5800)15重量部を充分混練したのちペレット化して、油展エラストマ−(3)を得た。油展エラストマ−(3)のペレット55重量部とプロピレンホモポリマ−(1)のペレット45重量部、架橋剤として、2,5−ジメチル−2,5−ジ−(tert−ブチルペルオキシ)ヘキシン−3(POX)0.2重量部、架橋助剤としてジビニルベンゼン(DVB)0.3重量部を用い、実施例1と同様にしてオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマ−のペレット(5)を得た。実施例1と同様に射出成形し、成形外観、耐衝撃性、フォギング性、ベタツキを評価した。結果を表1に示す。
Claims (10)
- パラフィンを主成分とし、40℃における動粘度が400mm 2 /s以下である精製鉱物油と、エチレンと炭素数3〜10のα−オレフィンの共重合体である合成油とを、40/60〜80/20の割合で混合して得られるエラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物であり、
230℃、2.16kg荷重で測定したMFRが10g/10分のプロピレンホモポリマー100重量部に対して該エラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物を20重量部ブレンドしたときの上記プロピレンホモポリマーの、昇温速度10℃/1分、測定開始温度20℃から測定終了温度が200℃までの測定条件で、第2回目の昇温時に測定した際の示差走査熱量計で測定した融点が、ブレンドしないときに比べて2〜4.5℃低下することを特徴とするエラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物。 - 精製鉱物油が、200℃、常圧、1時間での蒸発減量が0.4重量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物。
- 精製鉱物油の引火点が240℃から300℃であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のエラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物。
- 合成油のエチレン含量が50〜80モル%であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のエラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物。
- 合成油の数平均分子量が、3000〜20000であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のエラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物。
- 合成油が、メタロセン触媒を用いて製造されることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載のエラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物。
- エチレン系共重合エラストマーに、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のエラストマー用プロセスオイル組成物を配合してなる油展エラストマー。
- エチレン系共重合エラストマーがメタロセン触媒により製造されることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の油展エラストマー。
- 請求項7または8に記載の油展エラストマーと、ポリプロピレン系樹脂からなるオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
- 架橋剤の存在下で動的架橋法により製造されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のオレフィン系熱可塑性エラストマー組成物。
