Abstract
Description
第1の実施形態によれば、正極と、負極と、非水電解質とを含む非水電解質電池が提供される。負極は、チタンおよびニオブ含有複合酸化物を含有する。非水電解質は、(1)式及び(2)式で表される化合物から選択される少なくとも1種(以下、リン酸化合物とする)を含有する。
(非水電解質)
非水電解質は、前述のリン酸化合物を含む。非水電解質には、液状非水電解質、ゲル状非水電解質及び固体電解質が含まれる。液状非水電解質は、有機溶媒と、有機溶媒に溶解された電解質をさらに含む。ゲル状非水電解質は、液状電解質と高分子材料を複合化することにより調製される。なお、液状非水電解質は、非水電解液とも称される。
非水電解質中にイソシアナート基(―N=C=Oで表される官能基)を有する化合物がさらに含有されていることが望ましい。充放電サイクル性能の改善に寄与するからである。
正極は、正極活物質を含有し、他に炭素等の電子導電性を有する物質や、結着剤を含むことができる。電子導電性を有する金属等の基板を集電体として、その集電体に正極活物質含有層が接した状態で正極は用いられる。
(負極)
負極は、負極活物質としてチタンおよびニオブ含有複合酸化物を含み、この負極活物質を導電材や結着剤等を用いて、ペレット状、薄板状もしくはシート状に成形したものである。
(セパレータ)
セパレータの例には、ポリオレフィン多孔質膜、セルロース不織布、ポリエチレンテレフタレート不織布、ポリオレフィン不織布などが含まれる。水やアルコール系の不純物の持ち込みを防止できることから、ポリオレフィン多孔質膜やポリオレフィン不織布が望ましい。また、不織布は粘度の高いスルホン系非水電解質の含浸性に優れるために望ましい。ただし、セルロース不織布は低価格であるという利点を有するものの吸湿性が高く、不純物として水を電池内に持ち込みやすいため、使用する場合は真空乾燥による水の除去が望ましい。異種の膜を積層したセパレータや、セパレータに非伝導性物質の層を形成して短絡防止機能や含浸性向上機能を持たせたセパレータを用いることもできる。
(外装容器)
外装容器の例に、金属または樹脂製の缶、ラミネートフィルム製外装容器などが含まれる。金属缶としては、アルミニウム、鉄、ステンレス等の金属製で角型の容器を用いることができる。また、プラスチック、セラミック等の角型容器を用いることもできる。ラミネートフィルム製外装容器には、例えば、アルミニウムや銅、ステンレスなどの金属層及び樹脂層を含むラミネートフィルムを熱融着により袋状に成形したものが用いられる。ラミネートフィルム製外装容器は、内部ガス発生時に電池外観の変化として検出可能であるため、望ましい。
第2実施形態に係る電池パックは、第1実施形態の非水電解質二次電池(単電池)を1個または複数有する。複数の単電池を備える場合、各単電池は電気的に直列もしくは並列に接続されている。
(実施例1)
正極活物質としてリチウム含有ニッケルコバルトマンガン複合酸化物(LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2)粉末90重量%、アセチレンブラック2重量%、グラファイト3重量%、バインダーとしてポリフッ化ビニリデン5重量%をN−メチルピロリドンを溶媒としてスラリー化した。得られたスラリーを厚さ15μmのアルミニウム箔の両面に塗布、乾燥、圧延して幅67mm、長さ92mmの正極シートを作成した。正極シートの長さ方向に平行な一端部(幅5mm)を未塗布部分とし、その部分に幅5mm厚さ0.1mmのアルミニウムリボンを3箇所溶接して正極タブとした。
(実施例2)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解し、さらにトリフェニルホスフィンオキサイド1重量%とジイソシアナートヘキサン1重量%を溶解させた。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例1と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(実施例3)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解し、さらにメチルジフェニルホスフィンオキサイド1重量%を溶解させた。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例1と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(実施例4)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解し、さらにトリ−n−オクチルホスフィンオキサイド1重量%を溶解させた。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例1と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(実施例5)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解し、さらにトリ−n−オクチルホスフィンオキサイド1重量%とジイソシアナートヘキサン1重量%を溶解させた。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例1と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(実施例6)
負極活物質として斜方晶型ナトリウム含有ニオブチタン複合酸化物(Li2Na1.8Ti5.8Nb0.2O14)粉末85重量%、導電材として人造黒鉛5重量%とアセチレンブラック4重量%、ポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)6重量%を、N−メチルピロリドン(NMP)溶液に加えて混合してスラリーを調製した。得られたスラリーを厚さが25μmのアルミニウム箔の両面に塗布し、乾燥後、圧延した。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例1と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(実施例7)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解し、さらにトリフェニルホスフィンオキサイド1重量%とジイソシアナートヘキサン1重量%を溶解させた。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例6と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(比較例1)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解した。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例1と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(比較例2)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解し、さらにジイソシアナートヘキサン1重量%を溶解させた。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例1と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(比較例3)
負極活物質としてスピネル型チタン酸リチウム(Li4Ti5O12)粉末90重量%、導電材として人造黒鉛5重量%、ポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVdF)5重量%を、N−メチルピロリドン(NMP)溶液に加えて混合してスラリーを調製した。得られたスラリーを厚さが25μmのアルミニウム箔の両面に塗布し、乾燥後、圧延した。非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合したものにLiPF6を1M溶解した。この負極と非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例1と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(比較例4)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解し、さらにトリフェニルホスフィンオキサイドを1重量%溶解させた。この非水電解液を用いること以外は比較例3と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
(比較例5)
非水電解液として、プロピレンカーボネート(PC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)を体積比1:2に混合した有機溶媒にLiPF6を1M溶解した。この非水電解液を用いること以外は実施例6と同様にして非水電解質二次電池を製造した。
Claims (6)
- 正極と、
チタンおよびニオブ含有複合酸化物を含有する負極と、
(1)式及び(2)式で表される化合物から選択される少なくとも1種の化合物を含有する非水電解質と
を含む、非水電解質電池。
- 前記非水電解質中にイソシアナート基を有する化合物がさらに含有されている、請求項1に記載の非水電解質電池。
- 前記非水電解質の前記少なくとも1種の化合物の含有量が、0.1重量%以上2重量%以下である、請求項1または請求項2に記載の非水電解質電池。
- 前記(1)式において、R1、R2、R3の少なくとも一つがフェニル基である、請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の非水電解質電池。
- 前記チタンおよびニオブ含有複合酸化物は、ニオブチタン複合酸化物及び斜方晶型ナトリウム含有ニオブチタン複合酸化物のうち少なくとも一方の酸化物を含む、請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の非水電解質電池。
- 請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の非水電解質電池を含む電池パック。
