Claims (21)

  1. 第１の波長域の励起光を発生するため動作可能である少なくとも１個の励起源と、励起光の少なくとも一部を吸収し、第２の波長域の光を放射する少なくとも１個の蛍光体材料を有する発光面とを含み、装置によって放射された光が、該発光面によって放射された第１の波長域および第２の波長域の組み合わされた光を含む、発光装置であって、
    該発光面が、該少なくとも１個の蛍光体材料を含むことない少なくとも１個の窓エリアであって、第１の波長および第２の波長の光を実質的に透過する窓エリアを有することを特徴とする、発光装置。
  2. 該発光面が、第１の波長および第２の波長の光を実質的に透過し、そして、該少なくとも１個の蛍光体材料を表面に有する基板を含む、請求項１に記載の発光装置。
  3. 該少なくとも１個の蛍光体材料が、蛍光体領域の間のギャップが前記少なくとも１個の窓エリアを画定する蛍光体領域のアレイを含む、請求項２に記載の発光装置。
  4. 該蛍光体領域が実質的に該発光面の表面全体に亘って分布している、請求項３に記載の発光装置。
  5. 該蛍光体領域が該発光面に実質的に一様に分布している、請求項４に記載の発光装置。
  6. 該蛍光体領域の形状が、実質的に多角形、正方形、円形、楕円形、三角形、および、長方形から成る群から選択される、請求項３に記載の発光装置。
  7. 該少なくとも１個の蛍光体材料が該発光面を実質的に覆い、そして、窓エリアのアレイを含む、請求項２に記載の発光装置。
  8. 該窓エリアが実質的に該発光面の表面全体に亘って分布している、請求項７に記載の発光装置。
  9. 該窓エリアが該発光面に実質的に一様に分布している、請求項８に記載の発光装置。
  10. 該窓エリアの形状が、実質的に多角形、正方形、円形、楕円形、三角形、および、長方形から成る群から選択される、請求項７に記載の発光装置。
  11. 該基板が導波媒体を含み、そして、該励起源が励起光を該基板の中へ結合するように構成されている、請求項２に記載の発光装置。
  12. 該基板が実質的に平面状の形であり、そして、励起光が該基板のエッジの少なくとも一部分に結合される、請求項１１に記載の発光装置。
  13. 該発光面と反対側で該基板の該表面の少なくとも一部分にリフレクタをさらに含む、請求項１２に記載の発光装置。
  14. 該発光面基板からの光の放射を促進するために表面トポロジを有する該基板の発光面をさらに含む、請求項１２に記載の発光装置。
  15. 少なくとも２種類の発光体材料のパターンをさらに含む、請求項２に記載の発光装置。
  16. 該基板が、アクリル、ポリカーボネート、ポリエチレン、および、ガラスから成る群から選択される、請求項２に記載の発光装置。
  17. 前記少なくとも１個の励起源が青色発光ダイオードを含む、請求項１に記載の発光装置。
  18. 該発光面を用いて該装置によって放射された光に加わる第３の波長域の光を発生させるため動作可能である少なくも１個の発光ダイオードをさらに含む、請求項１７に記載の発光装置。
  19. 該少なくとも１個の発光ダイオードが、橙色光、赤色光、および、緑色光から成る群から選択された第３の波長域の光を発生させるため動作可能である、請求項１８に記載の発光装置。
  20. 該少なくとも１個の蛍光体材料が、ケイ酸塩系蛍光体と、アルミン酸塩系蛍光体と、窒化物系蛍光体材料と、硫酸塩系蛍光体材料と、オキシ窒化物系蛍光体と、オキシ硫酸塩系蛍光体と、ガーネット材料と、Ｓｉがシリコンであり、Ｏが酸素であり、Ａがストロンチウム（Ｓｒ）、バリウム（Ｂａ）、マグネシウム（Ｍｇ）またはカルシウム（Ｃａ）を含み、Ｄが塩素（Ｃｌ）、フッ素（Ｆ）、窒素（Ｎ）または硫黄（Ｓ）を含む場合に、一般組成Ａ３Ｓｉ（ＯＤ）５のケイ酸塩系蛍光体と、ＡがＳｒ、Ｂａ、ＭｇまたはＣａを含み、ＤがＣｌ、Ｆ、ＮまたはＳを含む場合に、一般組成Ａ２Ｓｉ（ＯＤ）４のケイ酸塩系蛍光体と、ＭがＢａ、Ｓｒ、Ｃａ、Ｍｇ、Ｍｎ、Ｚｎ、Ｃｕ、Ｃｄ、Ｓｍまたはツリウム（Ｔｍ）を含む２価金属のうちの少なくとも１つである場合に、化学式Ｍ１−ｘＥｕｘＡｌｙＯ［１＋３ｙ／２］のアルミン酸塩系蛍光体とから成る群から選択される、請求項１に記載の発光装置。
  21. 反射内面を有するエンクロージャと、該エンクロージャの内部に収納され、第１の波長域の励起光を発生させるため動作可能である少なくとも１個の励起源と、該エンクロージャの開口部を覆い、励起光の少なくとも一部分を吸収し、第２の波長域の光を放射する少なくとも１個の蛍光体材料を有する発光面とを含み、装置によって放射された光が、該発光面によって放射された第１の波長域および第２の波長域の組み合わされた光を含む、発光装置であって、
    該発光面が、少なくとも１個の蛍光体材料を含むことがない少なくとも１個のエリアであって、第１の波長および第２の波長の光を実質的に透過し、それによって、励起光の一部分と反射された蛍光体発生光とが該発光面を通り抜けることを可能にさせるエリアを有することを特徴とする、発光装置。
