Description
a)ある量の酸化銅粉末を、自体公知であり前述の先行技術に記載されている酸化還元プロセスを通じて製造した。この製造において、ホルムアルデヒドを還元剤として用いた。得られた粉末は、酸化銅(I)と酸化銅(II)の混合物を示す濃い茶色であった。
b)この粉末を乾燥させ、約4ミクロンの粒子径まで製粉した。
c)ある量の二成分ラテックスを混合し、成型可能な液体状態にするために約150℃の温度で加熱した。
d)ラテックス内にこの粉末を1重量%、2重量%、及び3重量%含む3つのサンプルを作った。より詳細には、サンプル1では、1グラムの粉末を100グラムの加熱ラテックススラリーに加え、サンプル2では、2グラムの粉末を100グラムの加熱ラテックススラリーに加え、サンプル3では、3グラムの粉末を100グラムの加熱ラテックススラリーに加えた。
e)次いで、得られたスラリーを成型して、複数のラテックスバッグを形成した。
Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する実施例1に従って作られた複数のバッグを、試験のために、臨床免疫学のルースベン−アリ協会(Ruth Ben−Ari Institute of Clinical Immunology)とイスラエルのカプランメディカルセンター(Kaplan Medical Center)のエイズセンターに送った。
実施例1の工程a、b及びcを繰り返すが、従来のラテックス溶液中では通常の水分含有量は約30〜35%であるが、その溶液中の水分量は倍であり、そのため、それは70%水及び30%ラテックスであった。
Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する実施例3に従って作られたグローブを、その抗ウイルス特性について試験し、ここでは、二重層天然ラテックスグローブ及び二重層ニトリルグローブを作り、試験した。
HIV−1クレードAストックウイルスの150μlアリコートを、室温に20分間、一連の二層Cupronラテックスグローブの表面、及び一連の二層Cupronニトリルグローブの表面に置いた。コントロールとして、グローブに曝露していない150μlのウイルスを室温で20分間インキュベートした。次いで、各種ウイルスアリコートを培地中に連続希釈し(1:3希釈)、その希釈物をMT−2細胞(HIV−1感染に感染性のT細胞)に加えた(4連で行った)。MT−2細胞中の合胞体形成の存在(ウイルス感染の指標)を、加湿インキュベーター中37℃7日間の培養後、倒立顕微鏡によって判断した。これは、図1中の表に記載されている、50%組織培養感染量(TCID50)の計算の元となった。
単純ヘルペスウイルス1型(HSV−1)アリコートの150μlアリコートを一連の二層Cupronニトリルグローブの表面に室温で20分間置いた。コントロールとして、グローブに曝露していない150μlのウイルスを室温で20分間インキュベートした。その後、5、10、20又は40μlのこれらのウイルスアリコートを1ml培地中で増殖させた293細胞(HSV−1感染性の細胞)に加えた(4連で行った)。加湿インキュベーター中37℃2日間の培養後、ウイルスの細胞変性効果(プラークの形成)を倒立顕微鏡により調べた)。本明細書に添付された図2に見られうるように、本発明によるグローブは、全てのウイルス濃度において効果的であり、これを阻害した。
カルシウム化合物及びそれらのラテックスに対する効果の制限をさらに試験するために、実施例3の手順を繰り返したが、3つの浸漬を使用した。1つ目と3つ目の浸漬は、銅/ラテックスであり、中間の浸漬は従来のラテックス浸漬であった。通常のグローブよりもわずかに厚い三層グローブが作製されたが、また、通常のグローブと見分けることはできなかった。物理試験において最終生産物は、効果的な殺菌及び抗ウイルス品質を示した以外は、従来のグローブの全ての物理的特性を示した。
Claims (28)
- 親水性高分子スラリーを調製すること、酸化銅(I)及び酸化銅(II)を含むイオン性銅粉末混合物を該スラリー中へ分散すること、次いで、該スラリーを押し出すか又は成型して親水性高分子材料を形成することを含む、親水性高分子材料に抗ウイルス特性を付与する方法であって、Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されている、方法。
- 前記イオン性銅粉末混合物が酸化還元により作られる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記還元が還元剤としてホルムアルデヒドを用いて行われる、請求項2に記載の方法。
- Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含むウイルスの不活化のための親水性高分子材料であって、該粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入され該親水性高分子材料中で主要な活性成分である、親水性高分子材料。
- 前記粒子が約1〜10ミクロンの大きさを持つものである、請求項4に記載のウイルスの不活化のための親水性高分子材料。
- 前記粒子が前記親水性材料内に約1〜3w/w%の濃度で存在する、請求項4に記載のウイルスの不活化のための親水性高分子材料。
- 前記親水性高分子材料が、ラテックス、ニトリル、アクリル、ポリビニルアルコール及びシラスチックゴムからなる群から選択される、請求項4に記載のウイルスの不活化のための親水性高分子材料。
- 前記高分子材料が、親水性高分子層内に直接かつ完全に封入されたCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子を備えた少なくとも1つの層と、そのような水不溶性粒子を実質的に含まない第2の親水性高分子層とを含む、多層高分子材料である、請求項4に記載のウイルスの不活化のための親水性高分子材料。
- 前記少なくとも1つの層及び前記第2の層が、同じ高分子材料から形成される、請求項8に記載のウイルスの不活化のための親水性高分子材料。
- Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含む親水性高分子材料から形成されたニップル又はニップルシールドの形状をしている、デバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイスであって、該粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されている、デバイス。
- 前記親水性高分子材料が、親水性高分子層内に直接かつ完全に封入されたCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子を備えた少なくとも1つの層と、そのような水不溶性粒子を実質的に含まない第2の親水性高分子層とを含む、多層高分子材料である、請求項10に記載のデバイス。
- Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含む親水性高分子材料から形成されたバッグの形状をしている、デバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイスであって、該粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されている、デバイス。
- 前記親水性高分子材料が、親水性高分子層内に直接かつ完全に封入されたCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子を備えた少なくとも1つの層と、そのような水不溶性粒子を実質的に含まない第2の親水性高分子層とを含む多層高分子材料である、請求項12に記載のデバイス。
- 前記バッグが血液保存バッグである、請求項12に記載のデバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイス。
- Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含む親水性高分子材料から形成されたチューブの形状をしている、デバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイスであって、該粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されている、デバイス。
- 前記親水性高分子材料が、親水性高分子層内に直接かつ完全に封入されたCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子を備えた少なくとも1つの層と、そのような水不溶性粒子を実質的に含まない第2の親水性高分子層とを含む多層高分子材料である、請求項15に記載のデバイス。
- 前記チューブが体液輸送用のチューブである、請求項15に記載のデバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイス。
- 前記チューブが、デバイスを通って流れる流体の全てと前記高分子材料の表面との接触を確実にするためにデバイスを通って流れる流体の混合を引き起こすための、デバイスの内腔内に伸びた突起を備えている、デバイスを通って流れる流体に含まれるウイルスを不活化するための請求項15に記載のデバイス。
- Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含む親水性高分子材料から形成されたコンドームの形状をしている、デバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイスであって、該粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されかつ該親水性高分子材料中で主要な活性成分である、デバイス。
- 前記親水性高分子材料が、親水性高分子層内に直接かつ完全に封入されたCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子を備えた少なくとも1つの層と、そのような水不溶性粒子を実質的に含まない第2の親水性高分子層とを含む多層高分子材料である、請求項19に記載のデバイス。
- Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含む親水性高分子材料から形成されたダイヤフラムの形状をしている、デバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイスであって、該粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されている、デバイス。
- 前記親水性高分子材料が、親水性高分子層内に直接かつ完全に封入されたCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子を備えた少なくとも1つの層と、そのような水不溶性粒子を実質的に含まない第2の親水性高分子層とを含む多層高分子材料である、請求項21に記載のデバイス。
- Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含む親水性高分子材料から形成されたグローブの形状をしている、デバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイスであって、該粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されている、デバイス。
- 前記親水性高分子材料が、親水性高分子層内に直接かつ完全に封入されたCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子を備えた少なくとも1つの層と、そのような水不溶性粒子を実質的に含まない第2の親水性高分子層とを含む多層高分子材料である、請求項23に記載のデバイス。
- 親水性高分子材料から形成されたグローブの形状をしておりかつさらなる親水性高分子材料の薄層でコーティングされた、デバイスと接触したウイルスを不活化するためのデバイスであって、該さらなる親水性高分子材料がCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含み、該粒子が該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されている、デバイス。
- 前記親水性高分子材料が、親水性高分子層内に直接かつ完全に封入されたCu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子を備えた少なくとも1つの層と、そのような水不溶性粒子を実質的に含まない第2の親水性高分子層とを含む多層高分子材料である、請求項25に記載のデバイス。
- Cu++とCu+の両方を放出する水不溶性粒子の混合物を含む、ウイルスの不活化のための親水性高分子材料であって、該粒子が、該親水性高分子材料内に直接かつ完全に封入されかつ該親水性高分子材料中で唯一の抗ウイルス成分である、親水性高分子材料。
- フィルムの形状をしている、請求項27に記載のウイルスの不活化のための親水性高分子材料。
