Abstract
【解決手段】本発明は、バインダー成分B)およびポリマーダラー成分A)を含む、水性つや消しコーティング組成物を提供し、該ポリマーダラー成分A)は、1以上の多段コポリマーまたは一段の架橋した(コ)ポリマー、たとえば、架橋t−ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、からなり、該ダラー成分粒子A)は1〜20μmの平均直径を有する。成分A)およびB)は適合性である。好ましくは、ダラー成分A)はアクリル系であり;さらに好ましくは、成分A)およびB)はアクリル系である。水性組成物は、触感または感触(柔らかい手触り)特性、光沢耐性および低い色の損失をはじめとするフィルムおよび外観特性を有するつや消しコーティングを提供する。

EA=エチルアクリレート;BA=ブチルアクリレート;AN=アクリロニトリル;AA=アクリル酸;EHA=2−エチルヘキシルアクリレート;AAEM=2−アセトアセチルエチルメタクリレート;ALMA=アリルメタクリレート;DVB=ジビニルベンゼン;MMA=メチルメタクリレート;BMA=ブチルメタクリレート;t−BA=tert−ブチルアクリレート;STY=スチレン。
光沢測定:表面光沢は、トップコートをなめらかなベースコート表面上にスプレーした後、一夜乾燥後に測定する。この測定のために、本発明者らは、Micro−TRI(商標)光沢計を用いて60および85°の配置で表面光沢を測定した。
エマルジョンポリマーシードの合成
この実施例は、本発明における好ましいダラーである、コア/シェル粒子の製造において使用されるエマルジョンポリマーの製造を説明する。他に特に記載しない限り、「装填された」または「添加された」なる用語は、すべての混合物を一度に添加することを指す。次の混合物を製造した:

ミクロ粒子合成
次の実施例1〜4のそれぞれにおいて、スターラーおよびコンデンサーを備え、窒素で覆われたリアクターに混合物Aを装填し、92℃に加熱した。混合物BおよびCを別々に手持型高剪断ミキサーで安定なエマルジョンが得られるまで乳化させた(0.8〜3分)。混合物Bを次いでゆっくりとリアクター中に1時間かけて供給した。リアクター内容物を64℃にして、混合物Cをショットとして添加して反応を開始し、反応は約1.5時間後に完了した。次に、適切であるならば、混合物D、EおよびFを別々にリアクターに90分かけてはかりとった。結果として得られた混合物を室温に冷却し、光学顕微鏡およびCoulter Counterにより分析した。結果として得られた混合物を室温に冷却し、光学顕微鏡およびCoulter Counterにより分析した。
5μm架橋BA粒子

バインダー中和
中和された二段バインダー
製造例Cからの二段強化エラストマーバインダープロセスを水性水酸化アンモニウムでpH7.5に中和した。

675.5gのBAおよび24.5グラムのAAを混合物A中のモノマー混合物として使用し、混合物G中の300グラムMMAを使用して、製造例Cからの二段強化エラストマーバインダープロセスを繰り返した。結果として得られた二段バインダーをトリエチルアミンでpH7.5に中和した。
中和された二段バインダー
612gのBA、160グラムのEAおよび28グラムのAAを混合物A中のモノマー混合物として使用し、混合物G中の200グラムMMAを使用して、製造例Cからの二段強化エラストマーバインダープロセスを繰り返した。結果として得られた二段バインダーを水性水酸化アンモニウムでpH7.5に中和した。
中和された二段バインダー
292gのBA、480グラムのEAおよび28グラムのAAを混合物A中のモノマー混合物として使用し、混合物G中の200グラムMMAを使用して、製造例Cからの二段強化エラストマーバインダープロセスを繰り返した。結果として得られた二段バインダーを20グラムの水中でスラリー化させた2.0グラムのZnOで中和し、水性水酸化アンモニウムでpH7.5にした。
中和された二段バインダー
772グラムのEA、および28グラムのAAを混合物A中のモノマー混合物として使用し、混合物G中の200グラムMMAを使用して、製造例Dからの二段強化エラストマーバインダープロセスを繰り返した。結果として得られた二段バインダーを水性水酸化アンモニウムでpH7.5に中和した。
中和された二段バインダー
133グラムのTergitol 15−S−15(長鎖アルコールエトキシレート界面活性剤)を使用して、混合物A中ドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウムを置き代える以外は実施例9を繰り返した。結果として得られた二段バインダーをトリエチルアミンでpH7.5に中和した。
中和された二段バインダー
49グラムのAerosol A−102(エトキシル化スルホコハク酸二ナトリウム界面活性剤)を使用して、ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム/ドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム界面活性剤混合物を置きかえる以外は実施例9を繰り返した。結果として得られた二段バインダーを水性アンモニアでpH7.5に中和した。
中和された二段バインダー
49グラムのAerosol A−102(エトキシル化スルホコハク酸二ナトリウム界面活性剤)を使用して、ラウリル硫酸ナトリウム/ドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム界面活性剤混合物を置きかえ、EAの全部をEHAで置きかえた以外は実施例9を繰り返した。結果として得られた二段バインダーを水性アンモニアでpH7.5に中和した。
皮革への適用
皮革調製物:修正グレインレザー(商業的グレード)を、0.03〜0.045乾燥Kg/m2(3〜4乾燥グラム/ft2)のコーティング重量のアクリルエマルジョンコポリマーベースコートにスプレー適用(空気圧スプレーガンHPLVを使用)することにより仕上げ処理した。ベースコートを乾燥させ、finiflexを90℃で使用することにより平滑化して、なめらかなベースコート表面にした。ベースコートの平滑化後、各実施例13〜15の顔料を含まないトップコートをベースコートに適用して、0.0048〜0.0065Kg/m2のコーティング重量にした。仕上げ処理された皮革を90℃オーブン中で2分間乾燥させ、さらに周囲条件で一夜乾燥させた。
トップコート中の一段および二段ダラー粒子
この実施例は、トップコート配合物中のコア−シェルおよび一段ダラー粒子の性能を説明する。実施例13Bダラーは、3.74gの1μm BA−STYエマルジョンシード粒子を含んでおり、該シード粒子は272gのt−BA、3gのDVB、および3gのジエチレングリコールジメタクリレートからなる278gのモノマー混合物で膨潤されて、7μm平均直径ポリ(t−BA)ビーズに成長させた。好適なプラスチック塗料容器中で実験室用ベンチミキサーで単に混合することにより、次の配合物を製造した。
様々な比率でのトップコート適用コアシェルダラー
この実施例は様々な比率でコアシェルダリング粒子を含む配合物の性能を説明する。プラスチック塗料容器中で実験室用ベンチトップミキサーで単に混合することにより、以下の配合物を製造し、以下の表に示すように試験した。

- 多段コポリマー、−60℃〜75℃のTgを有する一段の架橋した(コ)ポリマー、およびその混合物から選択される1以上のポリマーの、1〜20μmの平均直径を有する粒子からなるポリマーダラー成分A);および
ダラー成分A)と適合性の1以上のフィルム形成性有機バインダーからなるバインダー成分B):
を含む水性組成物であって、
前記ダラー成分A)が1以上の一段の架橋した(コ)ポリマーを含む場合、該(コ)ポリマーは、架橋したt−ブチルアクリレート(t−BA)(コ)ポリマー、架橋した2−エチルヘキシル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したエチル(メタ)アクリレートコポリマー、架橋したsec−ブチル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したメチルアクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したヘキシル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したイソブチル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したベンジル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したイソプロピル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したデシル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したドデシル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したn−ブチル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したC21〜C30アルキル(メタ)アクリレート(コ)ポリマー、架橋したビニルプロピオネート(コ)ポリマー、ウレタンポリマー、尿素−ホルムアルデヒド樹脂、メラミン樹脂、シリコーン含有(メタ)アクリレートコポリマー、架橋したポリマーの(メタ)アクリルモノマーとのコポリマー(該コポリマーは−10℃〜75℃のTgを有する)、架橋したポリマーのビニルモノマーとのコポリマー(該コポリマーは−10℃〜75℃のTgを有する)、ならびにその混合物および組み合わせから選択される、水性組成物。 - ダラー成分A)およびバインダー成分B)のそれぞれがアクリル系である請求項1記載の組成物。
- 前記ダラー成分A)が、アクリル多段ポリマー、ビニル多段ポリマー、多段合成ゴムコポリマー、多段ウレタンコポリマー、水分散性グラフトコポリマー、それらの混合物、それらの組み合わせ、および一段の架橋した(コ)ポリマーとそれらとの混合物から選択される1以上の多段ポリマーを含む請求項1記載の組成物。
- 前記ダラー成分A)が、1μm〜15μmの平均直径を有する1以上の(コ)ポリマーの粒子を含む請求項1記載の組成物。
- 前記ダラー成分A)と前記バインダー成分B)との固体としての重量比が0.1:1〜10:1の範囲である請求項1記載の組成物。
- 前記バインダー成分B)が二段アクリルエマルジョンポリマーを含む請求項2記載の組成物。
- 前記バインダー成分B)が、10,000〜10,000,000の重量平均分子量を有する1以上のポリマーバインダーを含む請求項1記載の組成物。
- 1〜20μmの平均直径を有する1以上の(コ)ポリマー(該(コ)ポリマーは、多段コポリマーおよび一段の架橋した(コ)ポリマーから選択される)の粒子を含むダラー成分A);および
ダラー成分A)と適合性の1以上のフィルム形成性有機バインダーを含むバインダー成分B):を含む水性組成物を形成し;
コーティング組成物を1以上の基体に適用し;および
コーティング組成物を乾燥すること:
を含む、コーティングを製造する方法であって;

- 前記基体が、皮革、木材、天然木、合板、加工木材、パーティクルボード、リグノセルロース系材料、石膏ボード、紙、ボール紙、メソナイト、板紙、皮膚、毛髪、織布、不織布、プラスチック、金属、コンクリート、煉瓦、石、舗装道路および路面から選択される請求項9記載のコーティングされた基体。
- 無機ダラーおよび有機ダラーから選択される追加のダラーをさらに含む請求項1記載の組成物。
