かかるターボ過給機装置を車両に取り付ける方法200の基本的なステップは図3A、図3Bに示されている。設置方法は、車両の既存のマフラーを除去するステップ210と、本発明に従ったターボ過給機装置をその所要位置に取り付けるステップとを含む。既存のマフラーが除去されたならば、ターボ過給機の排気入口が車両の油レベルの位置又はより下方の位置にて車両の排気系に取り付け又は連結される212。ターボ過給機の排気出口は、一般に「尾管(テールパイプ)」と称される管に連結される214。ターボ過給機の油入口は、車両の給油装置の圧力側に連結される216。ターボ過給機の油出口は、油レベルの上方の位置にて給油装置の油リザーバに連結される218。ターボ過給機の給気出口は、スロットの本体等であるかどうかを問わずに、車両の吸気口に連結される220。
該方法200は、ターボ過給機コンプレッサから出るガスの流れ中に水を噴射し、吸入給気を冷却し且つ、燃焼温度を低下させるべく水噴射装置をターボ過給機に連結するステップ234を更に備えている。
Claims (37)
- 内燃機関用のターボ過給機装置において、
給油装置の圧力側に連結し得る形態とされた油入口と、油出口と、排気入口と、排気出口と、給気入口と、給気出口とを有するターボ過給機と、
油出口と流体的に連通し且つ、給油装置と流体的に連通し得るような形態とされた油ポンプと、
給油装置の圧力側における圧力が所定のレベル以下に降下したとき、油がターボ過給機内に流れるのを防止し得るよう油入口と流体的に連通した圧力駆動の逆止弁と、
ターボ過給機を排気管に、また、エンジンから離れて且つ、給油装置の油レベルに又はそれよりも下方に取り付ける取り付け金具とを備える、内燃機関用のターボ過給機装置。 - 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記給油装置は、エンジンを潤滑する車両の給油装置である、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、ターボ過給機を車両の既存のマフラー位置に取り付ける金具を更に備える、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記逆止弁の出口は、前記ターボ過給機の前記油入口の上方に配置され、前記油ポンプ入口は、前記ターボ過給機の前記油出口付近に配置される、装置。

- 給油装置に連結された油入口と、油出口と、車両の排気口に連結された排気出口と、車両の吸気口に連結された給気出口と、給気入口とを有するターボ過給機を燃焼機関駆動の車両に取り付ける方法において、
ターボ過給機の排気入口をエンジン室から離れた遠方の位置にて車両の油レベルの位置又はそれよりも下方にて車の排気系統に取り付けるステップと、
油ポンプをターボ過給機の油出口と油系統のリザーバ側との間に取り付けるステップとを備える、ターボ過給機を燃焼機関駆動の車両に取り付ける方法。 - 請求項12に記載の方法において、既存のマフラーを車両から除去するステップと、ターボ過給機を既存のマフラー位置に取り付けるステップとを更に備える、方法。

空気をターボ過給機からエンジンのスロットル本体に導入する第一のダクトとを備える、燃焼機関用のターボ過給機の設置キット。 - 請求項24に記載のキットにおいて、ターボ過給機と、該ターボ過給機から出る排気とに連結する第二の排気配管を更に備える、キット。
