前記チャンバに収容されたエレクトロクロミック材料と、
前記素子の1つの面に担持された導電性材料の層を含む透明な第1の電極と、
前記後部素子の前記前面に配置された第2の電極と、

- 前記反射材料を含まない前記領域は、前記光源を見ることができるようにする、請求項44に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 運転手の方向への前記ミラーを通した前記光源からの光の透過を低減させるための前記光源の前に配置された手段をさらに備えた、請求項44に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記透過を低減させるための手段は、光制御膜、バッフルアセンブリ、塗料のコーティング、加熱素子、厚くなった反射層、フレネルレンズ、角柱レンズ、およびコリメーティングレンズから構成される群から選択される素子のいずれか1つまたは組み合わせを含む、請求項50に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記電子デバイスは、前記エレクトロクロミックミラーを透過した光を感知するためのセンサである、請求項43に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記ミラーは、エレクトロクロミック媒体をさらに備えた、請求項43に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記部分的に透過性/反射性のエリアに近接した前記エレクトロクロミック媒体の着色は、前記ミラーの残りのエリアにおける前記エレクトロクロミック媒体の着色とほぼ均一である、請求項53に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記反射材料を含む領域は、前記エリアの約50から70%を含み、前記反射材料を含まない領域は、前記エリアの約30から50%を含む、請求項43に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記反射材料を含む領域は、反射材料を実質的に含まないラインによって分離された複数の反射材料のラインを有する、請求項43に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記反射材料のラインおよび前記反射材料を含まないラインは垂直である、請求項56に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記反射材料のラインは、約0.010インチの幅を有し、前記反射材料を含まないラインは、約0.006インチの幅を有する、請求項56に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記エレクトロクロミックミラーおよび前記光源が設けられたハウジングをさらに備え、前記ハウジングは、前記ハウジングを車両の外部に搭載するための搭載部材を有する、請求項43に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。

- 車両の外部に設けられるように形成されたハウジングと、
前面および後面を有する、前記ハウジング内に設けられた第1の素子と、
前記第1の素子の面の1つに配置された反射器と、
前記第1の素子の前記後面の背後の前記ハウジング内に設けられた光源であって、前記光源は、前記ハウジング内に配置され、駆動されると、前記第1の素子、および少なくとも部分的に透過性の前記反射器の領域を通して車両の側部に光を放射する光源とを備えた車両用の外部バックミラーアセンブリ。 - 前記光源は、車両のドアハンドルおよび/またはロック機構に向かって光を放射する、請求項62に記載の外部バックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記第1の素子の前の前記ハウジング内に設けられ、前面および後面を有し、間隔を置いた関係で前記第1の素子にシール可能に結合された、チャンバを規定する第2の素子と、
前記チャンバに収容されたエレクトロクロミック材料と、
前記素子の1つの面に担持された導電性材料の層を含む透明な第1の電極と、
前記第1の素子の前記第1の面に配置された第2の電極とを備え、
前記光源は、前記第1の素子の背後に設けられ、駆動されると、前記第1および第2の素子、前記エレクトロクロミック材料、前記第1および第2の電極、および少なくとも部分的に透過性の前記反射器の領域を通して車両の側部に光を放射する、請求項159に記載の外部バックミラーアセンブリ。 - 前記第2の電極は反射性であり、それによって、前記反射器として作用し、反射電極を構成する、請求項64に記載の外部バックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記反射電極は、前記第1の素子の前記前面の実質的に全体にわたって形成され、前記反射電極は、透明な導電性コーティングおよび前記透明な導電性コーティングにわたって形成された銀または銀合金の薄い反射層を有する、請求項65に記載の外部バックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記反射電極は、少なくとも約50%の反射率および可視スペクトルの少なくとも部分において少なくとも約10%の透過率を有して、部分的に透過性かつ部分的に反射性である、請求項66に記載の外部バックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記反射器は前記後部素子の前記後部表面の実質的に全てにわたって配置されている、請求項1に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
- 前記可変減衰器は専用のラインを経て前記ミラーアセンブリから離れたデバイスに結合され、専用ラインにわたり前記離れたデバイスから送られる信号に応答して前記信号灯の強度を制御する、請求項33に記載のバックミラーアセンブリ。
