Απομακρύνονται συστατικά από αέρια ρεύματα δι επαφής εις μίαν ζώνην επαφής με λεπτομερισμένα σταγονίδια αντιστρέψιμου υγρού ροφητικού όπου ένα τμήμα των σταγονιδίων συναθροίζεται, τα οποία σταγονίδια περιέχουν συγκέντρωσιν του απορροφουμένου συστατικού μεγαλύτερα από την προβλεπομένη υπό της ισορροπίας ατμού - υγρού εις τις συνθήκες του αερίου ρεύματος κατά την έξοδον από την ζώνην επαφής. ω
