Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the performance of absorption and regeneration of a reactor even when temperatures of each process are different, by carrying out four process, absorption-preliminary regeneration-reduction, with three reactors at least. CONSTITUTION:High-temp. reductive gas 1 contg. sulfur compd. such as H2S and COS is sent to a reactor 17 and sulfur compd. is absorbed with an absorbent 20 and purified gas 33 is obtained. On the other hand, a reactor 18 is in a preliminary regenerating process and a reactor 19 is in a regenerating process and O2-contg. gas 52 is sent to both reactors and the gasses 36, 37 of outlets are cooled with heat exchangers 38, 39 and thereafter introduced into a device 42 for reducing SO2 and recovering S and gas 44 is circulated to the reactors 18, 19. Then the high-temp. reductive gas is allowed to flow to the reactor 19 and a reducing process is performed herein and sulfur compd. remaining in the reactor 19 is sent to the reactor 17.
