Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove the SOx and dust in wast combustion gases by oxidizing the sulfur oxide in a sulfur recovery system tail gas to sulfur troxide, circulating this to the inlet of an electrical dust precipitator and using the same for a quality adjusting agent for dust.
CONSTITUTION: The waste gas 2 released from a boiler 1 goes through a denitrating device 3 and is cooled in an air preheater 5, after which it enters an electrical dust precipitator 7. The gas 24 oxidized to sulfur trioxide with an oxidizer 17 from part of the whole of the tail gas 22 of a sulfur recovery system of a dry type stack gas desulfurizer is injected to the inlet of said precipitator 7, and is used as a quality adjusting agent for dust. The gas past the precipitator 7 enters the dry type stack gas desulfurizer and is removed of SOx in an adsorption tower 9. The adsorbent is shifted into a desorption tower 1, and the desorbing gas enters a sulfur dioxide reducing tower 15 and a Calus reactor by which simple substance sulfur is recovered. The tail gas 22 enters an oxidizer 23 where it is oxidized to sulfur trioxide which is circulated as a circulation gas for adjusting quality to the inlet of the precipitator 7.
