Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize absorbing and regenerating capacity of a purification system for gas reducible at high temp. by carrying out an absorption stage, preliminary regeneration stage, regeneration stage of S compd.(s) contained in the gas by controlling the amt. of gas to be circulated in a regeneration stage or utilizing simultaneously the heat of combustion of the gas. CONSTITUTION:Gas 1 reducible at high temp. contg. S-compd(s). such as H2S, COS, etc., is fed to a reactor 17, and the S-compd(s). is (are) absorbed by an absorbent 20, providing thus purified gas 33. In this stage, another reactor 18 is in a preliminary regeneration stage, and the absorbent 20 is heated. In the same stage, d reactor 19 is in a regeneration stage wherein O2-contg. gas 52 is fed to the reactor, and exhaust gas 37 is cooled in a heat exchanger 39, then conducted to an SO2 reducing device and an S-recovering device 42, and gas 44 is circulated through reactors 18, 19. When the temp. in the reactor becomes low in a low load operation, the amt. of the gas to be circulated is controlled by a valve 58, or the heat in the reactor is supplied by feeding the gas reducible at high temp. simultaneously or by burning the gas. The gas reducible at high temp. is fed to the reactor 19 after using it in the regeneration stage, where it is treated in a reduction stage.
