  • Exhaust Gas Treatment By Means Of Catalyst (AREA)

Abstract

PURPOSE: To treat generated SOx effectively by a mthod in which newly introduced air is heated in the furnaces of both desulfurization apparatus and denitrification apparatus, wherein the catalyst poisoned by sulfur is left behind, and then the heated air is circulated, together with generated gas, to the desulfurization and denitrification apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: Without taking denitrification catalyst 12 poisoned by sulfur for denitrification out of the apparatus, the generation of the treating gas 2 is temporarily stopped, and the generated gas is isolated temporarily from the desulfurization apparatus, and then fresh air is introduced through the air suction valve 18. Then, the air is heated by heating furnaces inside the desulfurization apparatus 6 and the denitrification apparatus 10, into the catalyst layer 12 to heat the catalyst layer to 400W450°C, where the sulfur present in the catalyst is oxidized to SOx and expelled, and passed through the by-pass 26 and returned to the desulfurization apparatus 6 for desulfurization. Then, the air is heated again by the heating furnace of the denitrification apparatus 10 and circulated repeatedly through the catalyst layer 12 in order to reduce SOx to less than its environmental standard. Then, the gas is discharged through the stack 14. Thereafter, the connection to the source 2 in the untreated state is disclosed. Thus, SOx generated in company with the regeneration of the catalyst can be treated effectively.
