Description
- Die Erfindung betrifft eine stumpfe Kanüleneinrichtung zur Verwendung mit einer Injektionsstelle mit einem vorgeschlitzten Septum.
- Es ist eine stumpfe Kanüleneinrichtung bekannt, die unter Bezugnahme auf Figur 1 der Zeichnungen beschrieben ist, wobei die Kanüleneinrichtung einen Körperbereich und ein hohles, langgestrecktes, zylindrisches, stumpfendiges Durchdringungseleinent aufweist, das sich von dem Körperbereich aus erstreckt.
- Die Verwendung einer stumpfen Kanüle ist auch in der US-A-4 197 848 beschrieben.
- Die Erfindung stellt eine stumpfe Kanüleneinrichtung bereit, deren Durchdringungselement im Gebrauch nicht in unbeabsichtigter Weise mit dein Septum außer Eingriff kommen kann.
- Die EP-A-0 114 677 beschreibt einen Verbinder, der einen rohrförmigen Körperbereich aufweist, wobei ein Stöpsel eine spitze Nadel trägt. Der Körperbereich hat äußere Vorsprünge, die auslenkbare Arretierarine tragen, um mit einer Injektionsstelle in Eingriff zu kommen, wenn die Nadel in ein Septum der Injektionsstelle eingeführt wird. Die Arme verhindern, daß die Nadel in unbeabsichtigter Weise mit dem Septuin außer Eingriff kommt.
- Der Oberbegriff von Anspruch 1 beruht auf der Offenbarung dieses Dokuments.
- Die Unterscheidungsinerkmale der Erfindung sind im kennzeichnenden Teil von Anspruch 1 angegeben.
- Die Kanüleneinrichtung der Erfindung kann eine einfache, einstückige Konstruktion aus Kunststoffmaterial sein.
- Es wird nachstehend auf die beigefügten Zeichnungen Bezug genommen; die Zeichnungen zeigen in:
- Fig. 1 eine teilweise geschnittene Seitenansicht einer bekannten Injektionsstelle an einer zugehörigen stumpfen Kanüleneinrichtung;
- Fig. 2 eine Perspektivansicht einer erf indungsgemäßen stumpfen Kanüleneinrichtung zusammen mit einer vorgeschlitzten Injektionsstelle;
- Fig. 3 eine teilweise weggebrochene vergrößerte Seitenansicht, die die Beziehung zwischen der Injektionsstelle und der stumpfen Kanüleneinrichtung von Figur 2 zeigt; und
- Fig. 4 eine vergrößerte seitliche Querschnittsansicht der Injektionsstelle der Figuren 2 und 3.
- Eine bekannte vorgeschlitzte Injektionsstelle 10 und eine zugehörige stumpfe Kanüle 12 sind in Figur 1 dargestellt. Die bekannte Injektionsstelle 10 hat ein zylindrisches Gehäuse 14 mit einer durchgehenden Fluiddurchflußbahn 16. Ein erstes Ende 18 des Gehäuses 14 ist mit einem relativ dünnen, scheibenförmigen wiederabdichtbaren Element 20 verschlossen. Das Element 20 hat eine wiederabdichtbare Öffnung 22 darin.
- Das Element 20 ist ein geformtes Septum mit einem integral ausgebildeten Rand 20a. Der Rand 20a ist im allgemeinen senkrecht zu dem Bereich des Septums mit der Öffnung 22 orientiert.
- Die Kanüle 12 weist einen Körperbereich 24 auf, der an einem ersten Ende ein hohles, zylindrisches, stumpfes Durchdringungselement 26 trägt. Wenn die Kanüle 12 in einer Richtung 28 zu dem ersten Ende 18 der Injektionsstelle 10 bewegt wird, kommt das Element 26 gleitbar mit der Öffnung 22 in Eingriff. Das Abdichtelement 20 wird dann angrenzend an die Öffnung 22 verformt, und das Element 26 erstreckt sich in die Durchflußbahn 16. Eine Fluiddurchflußbahn durch die Kanüle 12 ist dann mit der Durchflußbahn 16 über das hohle Durchdringungselement 26 in einer Fluiddurchflußverbindung.
- Die Figuren 2 und 3 zeigen eine vorgeschlitzte Injektionsstelle 34, die in Verbindung mit einer stumpfen Kanüleneinrichtung 80a gemäß der Erfindung verwendet wird.
- Die Injektionsstelle 34 ist in Figur 4 im einzelnen gezeigt und weist ein zylindrisches Gehäuse 40 mit einem ersten Ende 42 und einem zweiten Ende 44 auf. Das Gehäuse trägt, angrenzend an das zweite Ende, ein hohlzylindrisches Fluiddurchflußelement 46 zum Eingriff mit einem Katheterverbinder. Ein Innengewinde 48 vom Einsteck-Luertyp ist von dem Gehäuse 40 angrenzend an das zweite Ende getragen, um die Injektionsstelle mit einem Katheterverbinder zu koppeln. Die Injektionsstelle hat ein wiederabdichtbares Septum 52, das von dem ersten Ende 42 des Gehäuses 40 getragen ist. Das Septum 52 weist eine erste und eine zweite Oberfläche 54 bzw. 56 auf, die voneinander beabstandet sind. Die Oberfläche 54 ist von ringförmigen, U-förmigen, eingezogenen, von dem ersten Ende 42 getragenen Endelementen 58 unter Krafteinwirkung in eine kuppelartige Gestalt gepreßt worden. Die kuppelartige Gestalt der Oberfläche 54 kann sich über eine Oberfläche 42a des ersten Endes 42 hinaus erstrecken. Dies erleichtert das Reinigen der Oberfläche 54.
- Das Septum 52 hat im allgemeinen eine zylindrische Gestalt. Das Septum 52 kann aus einem Latex- oder synthetischen Kautschukmaterial gebildet sein. Alternativ kann das Septum aus einem thermoplastischen Elastomer gebildet sein. Das für das Septum 52 verwendete Material sollte nichttoxisch und sterilisierbar sein, beispielsweise mittels Strahlung, Dampf oder Ethylenoxid.
- Da das Septum 52 von im allgemeinen zylindrischer Gestalt ist, kann es aus einem Flächenkörper gestanzt, von einem extrudierten Stab abgeschnitten oder geformt sein. Das Septum 52 kann beispielsweise einen Durchmesser in der Größenordnung von 0,762 cm (0,30 inch) haben. Die Höhe des Septums 52 kann beispielsweise in der Größenordnung von 0,3175 cm (0,125 inch) sein.
- Das erste Ende 42 ist ferner mit einer verjüngten inneren Oberfläche 60 ausgebildet, die in einen ringförmigen Kanal 62 mündet. Die verjüngte innere Oberfläche 60 hat eine Konizität in einem Bereich von 5º bis 20º. Bevorzugt ist die Konizität in der Größenordnung von 12º. Bei der angedeuteten Größe des vorstehend genannten, beispielhaften Septums 52 und einer Konizität von 12º ist die diametrale wiederabdichtende Kompression des Septums 52 angrenzend an den Kanal 62 in der Größenordnung von 10 %.
- Der Kanal 62 ist teilweise von einer das Septum abstützenden Rippe 62a begrenzt. Der Kanal 62 kann typischerweise eine Tiefe in einem Bereich von 0,127 bis 0,1778 cm (0,050 bis 0,070 inch) haben.
- Eine Außenumfangsfläche 64 des Septums kommt gleitbar mit der verjüngten inneren Oberfläche 60 Eingriff, wenn das Septum 52 in das erste Ende 42 gleitet. Der ringförmige Kanal 62, der unter der Innenumfangsfläche 56 des Septums 52 liegt, ist vorgesehen, um es zu ermöglichen, daß sich das Septum 52 verformt, wenn eine stumpfe Kanüle durch eine Öffnung 66 darin eingeführt wird.
- Das Gehäuse 40 ist auch derart mit einer Fluiddurchflußbahn 68 ausgebildet, daß Fluide, die über eine durch die wiederabdichtbare Öffnung 66 eingeführte stumpfe Kanüle injiziert werden, in den Katheter 36 zur Abgabe in die Hand des Patienten fließen können.
- Die eingezogenen Endelemente 58 bringen auf das Septum 52 axiale Kräfte auf, so daß sie die kuppelförmige Außenumfangsfläche 54 bilden. Die von den Endelementen 58 aufgebrachten axialen Kräfte verformen geringfügig die Bereiche 52a und 52b. Im Gegensatz dazu bringt die verjüngte innere Oberfläche 60 radial gerichtete Kräfte auf das Septum 52 auf, so daß die Öffnung 66 in einen wiederabgedichteten Zustand gedrängt wird.
- Bei einer alternativen Ausführungsform kann die Oberfläche 52 als flache anstatt als kuppelförmige Oberfläche ausgebildet sein.
- Die Kanüleneinrichtung 80a weist einen rohrförmigen, hohlen Körperbereich 92a mit einem Luer-Flansch 94a, ein Durchdringungselement 98a und ein Paar von manuell betätigbaren Arretierelementen auf, die langgestreckte Arme 100a, 100b aufweisen. Das Durchdringungselement hat einen verjüngten Endbereich angrenzend an sein stumpfes Ende. Ein Querelement 101 liegt zwischen dem Körperbereich 92a und dem Durchdringungselement 98a und erstreckt sich in Radialrichtung des Körperbereichs und des Durchdringungselements.
- Die langgestreckten Arme 100a, 100b sind zwischen ihren Enden an gegenüberliegenden Enden des Querelements 101 befestigt. Die Arme bilden federartige Auslenkelemente.
- Der eine Endbereich jedes Arms bildet manuell greifbare Einrichtungen 103, und das entgegengesetzte Ende jedes Arms hat einen gebogenen Endbereich 100c, der hakenförmig ist, wie Figur 2 zeigt. Diese Endbereiche 100c der Arme 100a, 100b kommen gleitbar mit dem Gehäuse 40 in Eingriff, wenn das Durchdringungselement 98a durch die vorgeformte Öffnung 66 gedrückt wird, und kommen mit dem zweiten Ende 44 des Gehäuses in Eingriff, wie in Figur 3 gezeigt ist. Das Durchdringungselement 98a kann daher während eines Fluidinfusionsvorgangs nicht in unbeabsichtigter Weise mit dem vorgeschlitzten Septum 34 außer Eingriff kommen.
- Die Injektionsstelle und das Durchdringungselement der Kanüleneinrichtung können verschiedene Ausbildungen haben, wie es in der EP-A-0 354 947 ausführlich beschrieben ist.
Claims (5)
1. Kanüleneinrichtung zur Verwendung mit einer
Injektionsstelle (34), die ein Septum (52) hat, wobei die
Einrichtung folgendes aufweist: einen rohrförmigen
Körperbereich (92a), ein hohles, langgestrecktes, zylindrisches
Durchdringungselement (98a) und ein Paar von
Arretierelementen (100a, 100b), wobei jedes Arretierelement
(100a, 100b) ein manuell betätigbarer, federartiger
auslenkbarer Arm ist, der eine von Hand greifbare
Einrichtung (103) an dem einen Ende und eine Einrichtung (100c)
an dem entgegengesetzten Ende hat, um mit der
Injektionsstelle in Eingriff zu gelangen, wenn das
Durchdringungselement in das Septum eingeführt wird, um zu
verhindern, daß in unbeabsichtigter Weise das
Durchdringungselement mit dem Septum außer Eingriff kommt,
gekennzeichnet durch
ein Querelement (101), von dem sich der Körperbereich
(92a) von der einen Seite aus und das
Durchdringungsele-5ment (98a) von der entgegengesetzten Seite aus
erstreckt, so daß das Querelement (101) in Radialrichtung
zwischen dem Körperbereich und dem Durchdringungselement
verläuft, wobei jedes Arretierelement (100a, 100b)
zwischen seinen Enden an einem jeweiligen Ende des
Querelements (101) befestigt ist und das Durchdringungselement
(98a) ein stuinpfes Ende zum Einführen in ein
vorgeschlitztes Septum hat.
2. Stumpfe Kanüleneinrichtung nach Anspruch 1,
wobei die Einrichtung (100c) zum Eingriff mit der
Injektionsstelle einen gebogenen, hakenartigen Endbereich für
jedes Arretierelement (100a) aufweist.
3. Stumpfe Kanüleneinrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2,
wobei das Durchdringungselement einen verjüngten
Endbereich angrenzend an sein stuinpfes Ende hat.
4. Stumpfe Kanüleneinrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden
Ansprüche, das einstückig aus Kunststoffmaterial
hergestellt ist.
5. Stumpfe Kanüleneinrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden
Ansprüche in Kombination mit einer Injektionsstelle
(34), die ein erstes Ende, das mit dem Septum (52)
versehen ist, und ein zweites Ende (44) hat, mit dem die
Arretierelemente in Eingriff bringbar sind.
