Abstract
A presente invenção refere-se a um cateter urinário e um recipiente. O cateter urinário pode ter uma haste de cateter fixada a um cabo, e um revestimento disposto sobre uma superfície externa da haste de cateter. [0001] Este pedido reivindica o beneficio do pedido provisório de patente US n° 62/042.125, depositado em 26 de agosto de 2014, que está neste pedido integralmente incorporado, por referência.
[0002] Pessoas que sofrem de distúrbios neurogênicos da bexiga, como lesão da medula espinhal, esclerose múltipla ou espinha bifida, e distúrbios não neurogênicos da bexiga, como obstrução devido ao aumento da próstata, estenose uretral ou retenção urinária pós-operatória, precisam ser continuamente cateterizadas para esvaziar a bexiga urinária. Entretanto, a cateterização continua pode levar a problemas como infecções do trato urinário (ITU), estenose uretral ou infertilidade masculina. A cateterização intermitente em intervalos regulares evita muitos dos efeitos negativos da cateterização continua de longo prazo. Existem quatro categorias principais de cateteres intermitentes: (1) Intermitentes expostos, (2) Intermitentes revestidos hidrofílicos, (3) Intermitentes pré-umedecidos e (4), Cateter acoplado à bolsa ou intermitentes "sem contato".
[0003] Os cateteres intermitentes expostos exigem o uso de um método de lubrificação externo. Estes cateteres são os mais baratos e os mais comumente usados. Os materiais tipicos incluem borracha natural (látex) (NRL), cloreto de polivinila (PVC) e silicone. O método comum de lubrificação é a aplicação de gel. 0 gel é aplicado ao meato uretral ou na ponta do cateter em si. Os cateteres intermitentes revestidos hidrofilicos têm um revestimento lubrificante aplicado tipicamente aos primeiros dois terços da haste do cateter e são ativados pelo rompimento de um sachê de água localizado no interior da embalagem antes da abertura da embalagem. O revestimento pode exibir características higroscópicas, descritas na presente invenção como a característica ou intenção do revestimento de não apenas reter a umidade inerente no revestimento, mas também atrair a umidade do ambiente. O revestimento pode apresentar características hidrofilicas. O revestimento aqui descrito é uma formulação melhorada que é aplicada em um estado úmido e que permanece úmido por um periodo de tempo prolongado. Consequentemente, os cateteres urinários aqui descritos não requerem um lubrificante ou componente de umedecimento adicional, como um sachê de água ou embalagem de gel, para acompanhar os cateteres nos recipientes. Os cateteres urinários aqui descritos podem ser embalados individualmente em um recipiente distinto, como uma folha metálica opaca. Da mesma forma, nas modalidades aqui descritas com relação a polietilenoglicóis específicos (por exemplo, o PEG 300), outros polietilenoglicóis são contemplados como sendo substituídos por ou adicionados ao polietilenoglicol especificado.
[0009] Em uma modalidade, um cateter urinário inclui uma haste de cateter fixada a um cabo e um primeiro revestimento disposto sobre uma superfície externa da haste do cateter, o primeiro revestimento incluindo um hidrogel ou ácido poliacrilico (APA), glicerina e/ou água, e polietilenoglicol (PEG), sendo que o primeiro revestimento exibe características higroscópicas e/ou hidrofilicas. [0014] Em uma modalidade, um filme de silicone pode ser formado sobre um revestimento de um cateter. Em uma modalidade, um método de formação de um cateter com um revestimento inclui a imersão de um cateter revestido, como um cateter revestido hidrofílico, em uma solução contendo qualquer uma das formulações de revestimento da presente invenção, como uma formulação de revestimento incluindo APA, água e PEG, ou uma formulação de revestimento incluindo hidrogel, glicerina e/ou água, e PEG, depois imergir o cateter revestido duas vezes em uma solução curável por UV, então, expor as áreas revestidas a uma fonte de UV e, a seguir, colocar o cateter diretamente no interior de uma embalagem. Além disso, onde os métodos e as etapas descritos acima indicam certos eventos que ocorrem em uma determinada ordem, os versados na técnica reconhecerão que a ordem de certas etapas pode ser modificada, e que tais modificações estão de acordo com as variações da invenção. Adicionalmente, algumas das etapas podem ser realizadas simultaneamente em um processo paralelo quando possível, bem como realizadas em sequência conforme descrito acima. Adicionalmente, as características descritas em uma modalidade podem ser, geralmente, combinadas com as características descritas em outras modalidades. Portanto, na medida em que haja variações da invenção, que estejam dentro do espírito da revelação ou equivalentes às invenções encontradas nas reivindicações, é pretendido que esta patente abranja também essas variações.
Claims (23)
1. Cateter urinário embalado CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender: um cateter tendo uma haste de cateter fixada a um cabo; um primeiro revestimento disposto sobre uma superficie externa da haste de cateter em um estado úmido, o primeiro revestimento compreendendo um hidrogel ou ácido poliacrilico (APA), glicerina e/ou água, e polietilenoglicol (PEG), sendo que o primeiro revestimento exibe características higroscópicas e/ou hidrofílicas; e um recipiente incluindo o cateter, em que o recipiente não inclui outra fonte de umidade ou lubrificante para aplicação no cateter antes da inserção do cateter na uretra.
2. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que o hidrogel é um hidrogel LUBRAJEL® RR CG ou um hidrogel LUBRAJEL® RR.

Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 2, CARACTERI ZADOpelo fato de compreender apenas o hidrogel, a glicerina e PEG 400, sendo que o hidrogel está em uma faixa de 20% em peso a 30% em peso, a glicerina está em uma faixa de 20% em peso a 30% em peso e o PEG 400 está em uma faixa de 40% em peso a 60% em peso.
4. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 2, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender apenas o hidrogel, a glicerina e PEG 300, sendo que o hidrogel está em uma faixa de 20% em peso a 30% em peso, a glicerina está em uma faixa de 40% em peso a 60% em peso e o PEG 300 está em uma faixa de 20% em peso a 30% em peso.

Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 2, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender apenas o hidrogel, a glicerina, PEG 300 e PEG 400, sendo que o hidrogel está em uma faixa de 10% em peso a 35% em peso, a glicerina está em uma faixa de 25% em peso a 75% em peso, o PEG 300 está em uma faixa de 25% em peso a 65% em peso e o PEG 400 está em uma faixa de 25% em peso a 50% em peso.

Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 2, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender apenas o hidrogel, a água e PEG 400, sendo que o hidrogel está em uma faixa de 15% em peso a 35% em peso, a água está em uma faixa de 10% em peso a 45% em peso e o PEG 400 está em uma faixa de 20% em peso a 75% em peso.
7. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 6, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que o hidrogel está em uma faixa de 22% em peso a 26% em peso, a água é 25% em peso e o PEG 400 está em uma faixa de 49% em peso a 53% em peso.

Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender apenas o APA, a glicerina, a água e PEG 400, sendo que o APA está em uma faixa de 0,2% em peso a 3% em peso, a glicerina está em uma faixa de 15% em peso a 25% em peso, a água está em uma faixa de 20% em peso a 30% em peso e o PEG 400 está em uma faixa de 40% em peso a 60% em peso.

Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender apenas o APA, a água e PEG, sendo que o APA está em uma faixa de 0,1% em peso a 2,5% em peso, a água está em uma faixa de 10% em peso a 45% em peso e o PEG está em uma faixa de 20% em peso a 65% em peso.
10. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender adicionalmente quatro ilhós escalonados opostos proximais a uma ponta do cateter, os ilhós posicionados circunferencialmente a 90 graus entre si e posicionados em uma configuração não sobreposta.
11. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que a haste do cateter inclui uma extremidade proximal em formato de funil e cristas configuradas para facilitar a preensão.
12. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que a superfície externa da haste do cateter compreende um segundo revestimento sobre o qual o primeiro revestimento está disposto.

14. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 12, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que um filme de silicone é aplicado sobre o primeiro revestimento.
15. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 14, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que o filme de silicone é aplicado como uma solução curável por radiação ultravioleta (UV) e curado sobre o primeiro revestimento por exposição a uma fonte de UV.
16. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 1, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que o recipiente compreende um material laminado impermeável a gases.
17. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 16, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que o recipiente inclui uma aba adesiva que cobre uma seção perfurada do material laminado, a aba adesiva incluindo uma alça para puxar.
18. Cateter urinário embalado, de acordo com a reivindicação 16, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que o recipiente não inclui um sachê de água como fonte de umidade ou uma embalagem de gel como lubrificante.
19. Método para fabricação e embalagem de um cateter urinário CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender: a aplicação de um primeiro revestimento a uma haste do cateter em um estado úmido, o primeiro revestimento compreendendo um hidrogel ou ácido poliacrilico (APA), glicerina e/ou água, e polietilenoglicol (PEG) para formar um cateter revestido; e a colocação do cateter revestido em uma recipiente compreendendo um material laminado impermeável a gases, em que o recipiente não inclui outra fonte de umidade ou lubrificante para aplicação no cateter antes da inserção do cateter na uretra.
20. Método, de acordo com a reivindicação 19, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que a haste do cateter inclui um revestimento hidrofilico de base, e sendo que o primeiro revestimento é aplicado sobre o revestimento hidrofilico de base.
21. Método, de acordo com a reivindicação 20, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que a aplicação inclui a imersão da haste do cateter com o revestimento hidrofilico de base em uma solução contendo uma formulação do primeiro revestimento.
22. Método, de acordo com a reivindicação 21, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de que a primeira formulação de revestimento compreende apenas o APA, a água e o PEG, compreendendo adicionalmente a imersão do cateter revestido em uma solução de silicone que inclui agentes curáveis por radiação ultravioleta (UV) para formar um filme de silicone sobre o primeiro revestimento.
23. Método, de acordo com a reivindicação 22, CARACTERIZADO pelo fato de compreender adicionalmente a exposição do filme de silicone a uma fonte de luz UV por um periodo de tempo para curar a solução de silicone.
