Abstract

"PROCESSO DE PREPARAçãO DE FIO DE ALTA TENACIDADE, DE MúLTIPLOS FILAMENTOS DE MóDULO ALTO, FIO DE POLIETILENO DE FILAMENTO MúLTIPLOS, PAINEL DE MATERIAL COMPOSTO E PAINEL DE MATERIAL COMPOSTO COM RESISTêNCIA BALìSTICA". Soluções de polietileno são extrudadas através de uma fiadeira de múltiplos orifícios em uma corrente de fluxo de gás transversa, para formar um produto fluido. O produto fluido é estirado a uma temperatura que permite a formação de um gel, a uma razão de estiramento de, ao menos, 5:1 sobre um comprimento de menos do que cerca de 25 mm com a velocidade da corrente de gás transversa a menos do que cerca de 3 m/min. O produto fluido é resfriado em um banho de extinção de um líquido imiscível para formar um gel. O gel é estirado. O solvente é removido do gel para formar um gel seco e o gel seco produzido é estirado em, ao menos, dois estágios para produzir um fio de polietileno que se caracteriza por uma tenacidade de, ao menos, 35 g/d, um módulo de, ao menos, 1600 g/d e um trabalho necessário para efetuar rompimento de, ao menos, 65 J/g. O fio é ainda caracterizado pelo fato de ter mais do que cerca de 60 % de um componente cristalino ortorrómbico de tensão alta e, opcionalmente, um componente cristalino monoclínico em mais do que cerca de 2 % do conteúdo cristalino total.
