[式中、nは2〜200、好ましくは10〜100、さらに好ましくは20〜50の数である]を有するのが好ましい。
Si(CH3)3−O−(SiCH3H−O)m−Si(CH3)3(2)
[式中、mは2〜200、好ましくは10〜100、さらに好ましくは20〜50の数である]を有するのが好ましい。
16mmの直径を有しかつHPPE繊維からなるロープを製作した。HPPE繊維として、オランダのDSMにより供給された1760dtexのDyneema(商標)SK 75を用いた。ロープヤーンの構成は、8×1760dtex、20撚り/メートル、S/Zであった。ヤーンからストランドを製作した。ストランド構成は、1+6本のロープヤーン、20撚り/メートル、Z/Sであった。ストランドからロープを製作した。ロープ構成は、109mm(すなわちロープ直径の約7倍)の編組周期を有する12ストランド編組ロープであった。ロープの平均破断強度は、22.5kNであった。
架橋剤を予備配合した反応性シリコーンポリマーを含んでなる第一エマルションとシリコーンポリマーと金属触媒を含んでなる第二エマルションとから被覆組成物を調製した。第一エマルションは、30.0〜60.0重量%のジメチルビニル末端ジメチルシロキサンと1.0〜5.0重量%のジメチル,メチル水素シロキサンを含有するDow Corningから入手可能なエマルション(Syl−off(登録商標) 7950 Emulsion Coating)であった。第二エマルションは、30.0〜60.0重量%のジメチルビニル末端ジメチルシロキサンと白金触媒を含有するDow Corningから入手可能なエマルション(Syl−off(登録商標)7922 Catalyst Emulsion)であった。第一エマルションと第二エマルションを重量比8.3:1で混合し、4重量%の濃度まで水で希釈した。
オランダのDSMによりDyneema(登録商標)SK 75として供給された1760dtexのHPPE繊維を室温で、シリコーン油を含有する被覆組成物(Wacker CoatingからのWacker C800)中に浸漬し、乾燥した。被覆したHPPE繊維から5mmの直径を有するロープを製作した。ストランドの構成は、4×1760dtex、20撚り/メートル、S/Zであった。ストランドからロープを製作した。ロープ構成は、27mmピッチを有する12×1ストランド編組ロープであった。ロープの平均破断強度は、18248Nであった。
オランダのDSMによりDyneema(登録商標)SK 75として供給された1760dtexのHPPE繊維を実施例1に記載した被覆組成物で被覆した。比較実験Bに記載したのと同じ構成を有するロープを構成した。比較例Bと同じ方法でその曲げ疲労を試験した。2384マシンサイクル後に、ロープは破損した。
オランダのDSMによりDyneema(登録商標)SK 75として供給された1760dtexのHPPE繊維から、5mmの直径を有するロープを製作した。ストランドの構成は、4×1760dtex、20撚り/メートル、S/Zであった。ストランドからロープを製作した。ロープ構成は、27mmピッチを有する12×1のストランド編組ロープであった。ロープの平均破断強度は、18750Nであった。ストランド構成は、4×1760dtexであった。
混合したエマルションの濃度が固体ベースで40%であったことを除いて、実施例1の被覆で比較例Cのロープを被覆した。ロープを室温で被覆組成物に浸漬した。ロープを120℃の温度でオーブン内で加熱すると架橋が生じた。
第一エマルション:Silcolease(登録商標)Emulsion 912と第二触媒エマルション:Silcolease(登録商標)Emulsion Catalyst 913(Bluestar Siliconesから入手可能)とで比較実験Cのロープを被覆した。100:10の重量比で、第一エマルションと第二エマルションを混合し、4重量%の濃度まで水で希釈した。被覆を塗布する手順は、実施例3と同じであった。
Claims (15)
- 架橋シリコーンポリマーで被覆された高強度繊維であって、
前記繊維が、超高分子量ポリエチレンから作製され、少なくとも1.5N/Texの靭性を有する高性能ポリエチレン(HPPE)繊維であり、
前記架橋シリコーンポリマーを含む被覆が、架橋性末端基を有する架橋性シリコーンポリマーを含む被覆組成物を前記HPPE繊維に塗布すること及び前記架橋性シリコーンポリマーを架橋することにより得られ、
前記架橋シリコーンポリマーの架橋度が、少なくとも20%である、高強度繊維。 - 前記架橋度が、少なくとも30%である、請求項1に記載の高強度繊維。
- 前記超高分子量ポリエチレンが、デカリン中135℃で測定された少なくとも5dl/gの固有粘度を有する請求項1又は2に記載の高強度繊維。
- 前記架橋性末端基がビニル基である請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の高強度繊維。
- 前記架橋性シリコーンポリマーが式
CH2=CH−(Si(CH3)2−O)n−CH=CH2(1)
[式中、nは2〜200の数である]を有する請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の高強度繊維。 - 前記被覆組成物が、式
Si(CH3)3−O−(SiCH3HO)m−Si(CH3)3(2)
[式中、mは2〜200の数である]を有する架橋剤をさらに含んでなる請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の高強度繊維。 - 前記被覆組成物が、さらに白金触媒を含んでなる請求項4〜6のいずれか一項に記載の高強度繊維。
- 高強度繊維を含有するロープであって、
前記繊維が、超高分子量ポリエチレンから作製され、少なくとも1.5N/Texの靭性を有するHPPE繊維であり、
前記ロープが、架橋シリコーンポリマーを含んでなる被覆を施されており、
前記架橋シリコーンポリマーを含む被覆が、架橋性末端基を有する架橋性シリコーンポリマーを含む被覆組成物を前記ロープに塗布すること及び前記架橋性シリコーンポリマーを架橋することにより得られ、
前記架橋シリコーンポリマーの架橋度が、少なくとも20%であるロープ。 - 前記架橋度が、少なくとも30%である、請求項8に記載のロープ。
- 高強度繊維を含んでなるストランドであって、
前記繊維が、超高分子量ポリエチレンから作製され、少なくとも1.5N/Texの靭性を有するHPPE繊維であり、
前記ストランドが、架橋シリコーンポリマーを含んでなる被覆を施されており、
前記架橋シリコーンポリマーを含む被覆が、架橋性末端基を有する架橋性シリコーンポリマーを含む被覆組成物を前記ストランドに塗布すること及び前記架橋性シリコーンポリマーを架橋することにより得られ、
前記架橋シリコーンポリマーの架橋度が、少なくとも20%であるストランド。 - 前記架橋度が、少なくとも30%である、請求項10に記載のストランド。
- 架橋シリコーンポリマーで被覆された高強度繊維を作製する方法であって、
a)架橋性末端基を有する架橋性シリコーンポリマーを含んでなる被覆組成物を前記繊維に塗布する工程と、
b)前記シリコーンポリマーを架橋して、架橋度が少なくとも20%の架橋シリコーンポリマーを得る工程とを含み、
前記繊維が、超高分子量ポリエチレンから作製され、少なくとも1.5N/Texの靭性を有するHPPE繊維である、方法。 - 前記架橋度が、少なくとも30%である、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 架橋シリコーンポリマーで被覆された高強度繊維を含んでなるロープを作製する方法であって、
a)架橋性末端基を有する架橋性シリコーンポリマーを含んでなる被覆組成物を前記高強度繊維に塗布する工程と、
b)前記シリコーンポリマーを架橋して、架橋度が少なくとも20%の架橋シリコーンポリマーを得る工程と、
c)工程b)で得られた被覆繊維からロープを構成する工程とを含み、
前記繊維が、超高分子量ポリエチレンから作製され、少なくとも1.5N/Texの靭性を有する、被覆されたHPPE繊維である、方法。 - 前記架橋度が、少なくとも30%である、請求項14に記載の方法。
